Sell Coins, Medals and Tokens on eBay - By Avril Harper

Tell me: what does the word ‘coins’ conjure up in your mind’s eye? Is it neat velour covered boxes with a multitude of shiny coins sitting neatly in slots and covered in perspex, or coins hidden below ground centuries ago to safeguard one's wealth from wayside robbers and vagabonds?

And ‘medals’? Do you see long rows of brightly colored gongs and ribbon with some long dead soldier’s name carved on the side, or Cruft’s Championship Tokens, ‘Blue Peter’ giveaways, some Boy Scout's best attempt at tying reef knots or thousands more alongside?

And what of tokens? Love tokens? Bus tokens?

I’ll tell you what coins, medals and tokens mean to me - an immensely popular eBay collecting category with hot selling products and little competition.

An eBay PowerSeller's dream come true and also a great way to lose money, lots of money, if you're not careful.

YOU MUST SPECIALISE

Most certain profits come from unusual and even unique medals in specific high interest collectible sub-categories. Study the niches and you'll always succeed. So instead of buying and selling 'medals'; namely any medals, coins and tokens, go for Boer War Military Medals, Police Dog Bravery Medals. For coins, opt for limited edition collectors' sets and buy when they are new, store them safely away for a few years, promote them outside their area of origin and expect decent or magnificent profits. For tokens, choose mining tokens from a colliery long since closed, possibly one with a sad or tragic history of serious accidents. For sports medals and tokens, choose popular sports like golf and cricket, motor cycling and football.

SUB-CATEGORY: MILITARY MEDALS

Military medals vary in price according to actual battles and recipient’s rank, also level of bravery involved. So a bravery medal awarded to a high-ranking officer in the First World War – long battle period, wide scale action, many countries involved – might - be worth less than one awarded for similar level of bravery, to similar service rank, in a shorter war involving fewer countries and smaller geographic scale, such as Vietnam, Falklands War, Iraqi War. Only 'might' remember because two or more people desperate to have an otherwise common item can start another war, a bidding war with fierce bidding and high finishing prices.

TIPS

* Beware of re-engraved medals. It was quite common for men who lost their own medals or were less than proud of their own service status, to buy another man’s medals and remove the name and re-engrave with their own names.

* Medals were worn with pride and polished sometimes daily causing wear and reducing value. Medals dropped or otherwise facing heavy use get damaged and are also worth less than their pristine counterparts.

* Fakes abound for really rare medals so aim to prove authenticity such as by checking vendor's background for military decorated relatives, check letters and photographs, consult military records for really high price items.

How to Build up a Good Reputation as an Ebay Seller - By Rachel Henderson

It is very important that buyers can see that you are a trustworthy seller. The first thing that they will look for is your feedback. I would suggest that you buy a few things from eBay before selling anything. This will not only increase your feedback (as alot of buyers are put off by zero feedback) but allow you to get used to how eBay works and investigate how other sellers do things. The quicker that you can build up your feedback the better, as you will find that you can charge higher prices once potential customers can see that you are trustworthy. It is best to list some less valuable items first, as once your feedback is over 10 people will be happier to buy from you.

Another way to build up trust is to make sure that you respond promptly to customer enquiries. I will often send an enquiry to a seller just to find out how quickly they respond so that I get an idea of how efficient they are. Also make sure that your responses are as helpful and polite as possible without being pushy.

Make sure that once your item sells that you send out an invoice as soon as possible. This will not only show that you are efficient but also means that the buyer is more likely to pay more quickly, which is always good for any seller!

Once you receive the payment, send out the item as soon as possible and in new packaging. It is best to buy packaging in bulk so that you can get it more cheaply but remember that you can add the cost of it into your postage charge. I find that my customers would rather pay a little more and get good packaging. Remember some buyers also sell and so may like to reuse the packaging themselves.

When charging for postage make sure that you do not overcharge. It is against eBay's rules to do so, is annoying to buyers and will certainly encourage negative comments and spoil your reputation. I do not think it is unreasonable to charge between 25p and 50p for packaging.

Make sure that your parcels are as professional looking as possible but add a personal touch. I put the addresses on a label but hand write it, but have an address stamp for the return address. I put in a professionally printed compliment slip but handwrite a freindly message on it.

Lastly make sure that you deal with any complaints politely. Remember that if you are a business every customer is entitled to return their items even if they are not faulty. Make sure that you make it clear to customers how to do this within your terms and conditions. If an item has been damaged in the post it is up to the sender to claim compensation from the post office. Therefore you need to agree with the customer whether they want to return the item to you and get a full refund or send you a photograph of the damage and get a partial refund. Once you have sorted this out then claim compensation from the royal mail. I always make sure I apoloise if items do not arrive or are damaged. It is not my fault but it makes the customer feel much better!

Happy Selling!

A Unique Online Business Opportunity - Your Own Ebay Store With A Twist - By Deon Plessis

An interesting survey recently revealed that more than 9% of all Christmas shopping was done online. Although this sounds like a very small number, it really is significant in that the projection is that by 2010 more than 50% of everything we buy, will be done online. One of the biggest barriers has always been the issue of security and with the risk being shifted from the consumer to the payment processors, things are set to skyrocket. If you are looking for a unique online business opportunity, then owning your own online store is indeed a very promising prospect.

Before you start thinking of all the hassle involved with running a store – stop! There is an alternative and one that is potentially very lucrative and free from the usually hassle of customers, inventory and shipping which makes this such a unique online business opportunity.

Ebay is the biggest marketplace in the world and with more than 135 million members in more than 35 countries it is probably the widest audience that any market has or will ever have. What makes Ebay really powerful is that it gives anybody with virtually any product the opportunity to own their own store and to sell either their own products or someone else's products – new or used.

Ebay has been around for a while now and there are many strategies out there for making money on Ebay. Interestingly, 99.9% of them use the same business model and although it works it involves an awful lot of work. Just dealing with customers can be a full time job in itself. While most people try and make money by buying cheap wholesale products and reselling them for a profit, there are a few smart store owners that look at things differently – and they making a fortune without any of the usual troubles involved with running a successful Ebay store.

With this unique online business opportunity you can make money by selling other people's stuff. Yes, by simply having a store that lists other people's products you can get paid a commission for every sale made through your store. Ebay's affiliate program pays a handsome 65% commission, which is huge. Compare this to Amazon's 5% and you know why having your own affiliate Ebay store can be so lucrative.

The best part about having your own affiliate Ebay store is that it takes very little time to set up and once it is up and running you can pretty much let it run on autopilot. Since products are not passing through your store, there is very little maintenance required from your end. This makes it a system that you can easily duplicate and by getting a little bit creative, you can start to dominate several niche markets with your very own store – selling other people's products and having them deal with all the hassle of customers, delivery and payments.

There are many opportunities for making money from Ebay, but none are as easy and hassle free as this one. This really is a unique online business opportunity and one that will appeal even to those who hate the idea of having an online store. It really is hassle free, highly lucrative, easy to set up and very under used.

Top Selling Items on eBay - Utilizing eBay as a Fund-Raising Organization - By Abigail Beal

If you are a charity or school in this day and age there is a great tool to add to your fund-raising toolbox: online auctions at eBay. An eBay auction can be easy and convenient to run, without the overhead of the traditional fancy dinner with a silent auction. Volunteers will certainly be needed to photograph, package and ship items to bidders.

Still a bit shy about running an eBay auction? Here are some tips about the top-selling items on eBay and why not-for-profit organizations should dive into the eBay pool. Don’t worry – the water’s warm!

Jill Finlayson, author of Fundraising on eBay and former Senior Category Manager at eBay is well versed in the power of eBay for not-for-profit organizations. She was a founding member of the first eBay Foundation.

She believes that not-for-profit organizations should sell on eBay for two reasons: “I think the number one reason is that it allows you to tap into a much larger group of people which allows you to get more bids and more supporters. I would say that’s the first reason. The second reason is that eBay allows you to accomplish several goals instead of just one goal, so its not just about raising the funds, its about increasing awareness, finding donors, converting in kind gifts to cash and getting the market value for your goods. That’s what eBay does, it allows you to leverage a global marketplace and that’s what allows you to get the most bang for the buck. That’s why people use eBay.”

Finlayson states that top selling items on eBay include

1) Collectibles

2) Practical or new items

3) Experiences

She is enthusiastic about not-for-profits being creative about the idea of creating experiences for eBay bidders to bid on. “Experiences do very well with non-profits. You can do them very large scale with celebrities, or you can do them at a much smaller scale such as San Jose did where you get to turn on the Christmas tree and flip the switch and have that experience, or maybe meet the mayor. So there are experiences that have mass appeal and then there are experiences that have local appeal.” said Finlayson.

For the week of April 8, 2007 the most popular items eBay bidders were searching for included:

1. Wii. This game console by Nintendo just came out this year. Popular sellers featured the Wii console with remote and five games (that come standard with the console). Ending bids typically ended around $300.00 plus shipping.

2. Xbox 360. The game console is seen on eBay with starting bids at around $79. Games for Xbox 360 are selling for about $20 as a starting bid. There are many games available for sale on eBay.

3. Apple Ipod. The Ipod Nanos both used and new are selling for around $100 to $150. Apple Ipod Shuffles have starting bids at around $50. Ipods that are listed as “second generation” are of course older and are therefore cheaper than the latest version.
4. SONY Playstation 3. This Video Game Console is another popular seller, with ending bids at around $400 with many of bids.

5. Webkinz. They are stuffed animals that are actually interactive pets. You can own a Webkinz bunny, bullfrog, hippo, cat, unicorn or lots of other different kind of animal. They are made by Ganz, the popular stuffed animal maker. Each pet contains a secret code on the tag and when you “adopt” the pet (purchase it), you go online and discover if it is a boy or a girl pet. Then you name your pet and get a certain amount of Kinz Kash to redecorate your pet’s room and buy food.

6. Louis Vuitton. This popular handbag, wallet and briefcase designer is a big seller on eBay. Wallets can have opening bids at $100.00, handbags can start bids at $250.00. Vintage handbags can be just as pricey as new ones.

7 . Sony Playstation Portable. The Sony Playstation Portable is popular, as well as games for it are being sold too. Bids for the game console start at $50 and reach into the $200s. Games are sold for ten or twenty dollars. Memory cards for the game are being sold typically for fifteen dollars.

Knowing what items are best sellers on eBay can help you decide what items to feature in your online charity auction. You can get an idea of what types of auction items sell the best and what the ending bids could be. By choosing some of the top selling items on eBay your auction can be more profitable than ever.

Some Great Ways To Increase Your Traffic Members And Sales On Your Own Auction Website Or Webstore - By Paul Greenawalt

Well what is the best possible source for finding moving or large auction websites? The answer is simple really, Research and study. Here is a collective list of GREAT auction websites below for use around the world. Now I am not saying these are the only websites, but what I am saying is these are the big ones, beside the BIG one if you know who I am talking about. These are not in order by size just randomly typed.

sell.com, Yahoo Auctions, Bidville.com, eCrater.com, uk.ebid.net, MightyBids.com, tazbar.com, blujay.com, ePier.com, AuctionQuests.com, Bid-Alot.com, HiBidder.com, TheAuctionMan.net, Overstock.com, WeBidz.com, PlunderHere.com, Lowbid.com, romahawk.com, halfmoonauctions.com Biddersnsellers.com

So these websites you think probably had alot of money to get there names out not really true in most circumstances. They used word of mouth in various online methods. One is they have a person caring enough about the sites to write a article and someone will read and hear of the site name. Another way is the owner or some members start a myspace group and invite people like crazy. We can say FREE advertising right! Gotta love that. Do not stop there add more groups on other websites that operate like myspace. Here are a few more options hisholyspace.com holypal.com and JCfaith.com. It does not cost anything and the more spots you have for people to see you, the better off you are.

Auction Websites, webstores and just plain auction websites CANNOT think this way "build it and they will come" The truth is advertise it like crazy and hopefully they will find you. Google adwords are nice too if your site has any kind of advertising budget. First and foremost use free first, and then add on.

Here is a couple of my stores for an example, whenever you send an email include in your links perhaps someone will click on it and visit your store or the website your helping out.

(sample email)

Hey John thanks for the purchase

Please visit my stores again in the near future

Thank-you...

http://shops.half.ebay.com/gooddealsbooks

http://gooddealsbooks.ecrater.com/

Now that you have some people at your site give a contest. find a cool but not very expensive or even better free prize to give away. Perhaps too, if you have time you may want to consider many contests to help spread excitement and commitment. This will help get the sellers with you or better yet get the sellers involved. It also will help raise awareness and promote teamwork. Let your team help you in as many avenues as they can. Her is an example get ten sellers to go to myspace and start advertising as a good example.

Well there is so many things, you can do but you have to make sure you don't waste your time doing the wrong ones. Such as this might work but won't be cost effective. Mail everybody who made a purchase from you a invite to your new webstore or website. Might as well use that money or advertising on the net.

One big deal is help the sellers find a way to get a positive feedback or two. It will help give their selling credibility to possible buyers who visit. So yes, even as the owner of the site buy an item or two. There is nothing worse than shopping around with all sellers having a zero for a feedback. Your site will look like a ghost town.

Here is a great thought to close with: If you can commit to, bribe, bargain, and even plead with your sellers to add say a pamphlet in with their sales about your site. This would be for their sales at the expensive auction website their also selling on. You can give them better deals and they can invite their buyers to this site so they can make more money on their products. Basically just the seller saying please join me here for my other auctions for sale or visit their store on your site will also help increase members and traffic alot. The last thing it would do is help build trust on your site because of a referral.

I am a online book seller since 2002 with 1000's of worldwide orders. I have mailed items all across the USA and Canada. I have also shipped items into the UK, Europe, Australlia, Brazil, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait just to name a few.

Why Start an Online Business on eBay? - By Tara Kane

Why start an online business? The answer to that can be as varied as the number of people who ask themselves that very question. I would not consider myself much different from the average person. In asking that question, most of us are motivated by at the very least, three of the same things. Not to put too fine a point on it but they are: Money, Power and Greed. Oh, I can hear you saying now, " Well, I am motivated by recognition, or by the satisfaction of a job well done….., " and so on and so on.

What ever your reason or reasons, (my particular favorite happens to be greed), you should be aware of some facts about online businesses. It is now easier than ever to get yourself up and running in a reasonably short time. I am not going to sit here and tell you that in ten minutes you can become fabulously wealthy. This does not even happen over night. I am not going to sugar coat it and tell you that with no experience, no money, and no effort that this, or anything else for that matter will make you a dime.

I am here to tell you that with the resources and tools available on the Internet right now and the traffic generated every day by sites like eBay, you can be in business in a few hours. Will you make money? The answer is yes. Will you make money right away? The answer is quite possibly. Will you make enough money to satisfy your reason for being motivated to attempt this? That is where the work begins.

An "Old Guitar" Started It All

I will tell you my story so that you can get a feel for how these things progress. I had an old guitar and amplifier sitting around collecting dust. I had asked different friends if they wanted it but had no takers. I dusted it off and was about to load it up and head off to my local pawnshop, and then it hit me. I will have that garage sale that I have been putting off for months and months.

I mentioned it to my husband along with some tentative dates and he was willing to help if there were no scheduling conflicts. The operative phrase here is Scheduling Conflicts. Here is his list of conflicts; Root Canal, Re-primer his old jeep, and my particular favorite, Getting his Feet Scraped, (I have no idea what that means).

So obviously, the garage sale idea was out. I remembered that I bought a hard to find video game for my daughter on eBay. Bingo! I signed on, filled out the basic personal information, completed a step-by-step form for listing the old guitar and waited. I did not have to wait for long because after three days the guitar and amp sold for $200.00. Wow, I am gonna get rich on eBay.

I have to stop right here because I could go on forever. I am not here to advocate cleaning out the garage and your closets and hitting up everyone that you know for things to "eBay". I just wanted to illustrate how simple it is to get started. From my initial experience, greed kicked in and I decided to get serious about developing this into a full- blown business opportunity.

The Search Seemed To Go On Forever

I searched the net for resources, how to books and anything else that I could find. I spent huge amounts of time and wasted way too much money trying to find that one trick or tip that would turn my part time eBay business into a money machine. I was fortunate enough to come across some of the most amazing books that literally transformed my little auction into a real business.

Fast forward to the present. I now have an eBay store, several websites and the thing continues to grow. I am on a journey, so to speak. You can start small and stay small or you can take it farther and farther as opportunity and new ideas push you along.

My Advice For What It's Worth

My advice is to start out small, test the waters. Read all that you can about your particular field either in eBooks or on one of the many user forums around the net. With some research, persistence and some imagination you will be able to satisfy that thing that motivates you.

Mine just happens to be greed.

Living Wholesale Success The Laziest Way Ever - Secret! - By Joaquin Reveron

For many of us playing lotto, scratching money tickets and hoping for some kind of miracle is part of a daily ritual. If you get shown a business opportunity you may try it for a few months and if it does not work, even if others are making a very well living at it, we say it just does not work- it’s a scam! You ask Ricky Martin and he may still agree is just “La Vida Loca” without singing it.

Business is truly rough when starting if you are a newcomer, especially if you want to become a power seller on eBay. But do you really need to sell thousands of items to become financially secure and package all those dollars and cents of commissions at the end of each month when finishing accounting? Are there other smarter ways?

There are two hugely successfully ways to achieve fast and simple money through eBay without having to sell or buy anything. Anyone that dares to try the following secrets should stay addicted to them every single month.

It should be a real secret, a secret because I am 99% sure you never had a clue on how to invest totally nothing and turn into $1,500 or a higher profit ranging in the five figures for 12-18 minutes of work once mastered.

Have you been dumped from work for extreme negligence? Are you late for a mortgage payment and have the bank on your back every week? How do you pay your credit card debt in a possible and potential 12-18 minutes of work on average?

The in a nutshell formula to be deleted soon- is that you need to go to eBay. You should find a section on eBay that goes by the name of “What’s Hot”. Once arriving as my last minute check, I got the February report. Once you see the February report, as a PDF- you will search for high price ticket items in order for this secret to work.

As a special favorite, you should search for high priced collectibles. Cards, Stamps, Coins and many but many others that are of joyful need for a special collector. Can you imagine what President Ulysses letters and stamps go for? Say one for $100,000 right now on eBay. Do you think a fan of John F. Kennedy will buy a printed original stamp? A $5,000 stamp of him is being shown on eBay as of the moment I write.

Now, should I stick with stamps, coins and the ones shown as example here? No, look for other high priced ticket items of collection. Key here it must be rare, it must be very limited in quantity and it surely needs to be out of the retail market being sold anywhere offline in the local shop in order for this process to really work.

What do you do now? In a very in a nutshell explanation for the sake of this article- you play the middleman role. Send an email to the seller and tell him that you can buy his entire collecting high priced inventory. All of it for a special price, but that you need 48-72hrs to come up with the funds for it.

You then go to an online database of paid newsletter subscribers that want to receive information on specialty collectable items. You pay a fee for sending 2,000-3,000 emails on leads that are subscribed to their system and assure yourself they are not SPAM addresses. They are actually a few database online that are reputable and that are worth it.

What do you finally do? You work yourself a higher price with the paid newsletter subscribers from that worldwide special database and increase or easily double the price per unit so the gap is big enough so you pay your car issues or your mortgage payment for few month or a whole year depending on the item selected. Once they agree to pay you your fee, you contact the eBay seller by phone or email and finish the deal.

Deals like this take place on a monthly basis. You use the power of a joint venture without having to carry a product or sell anything yourself to make a hefty commission from few minutes of work. At first it could be a pain, but later on it should work if you are patient enough.

The majorities just quit at the first try and shout -waste of time- in their minds without full effort- that is why such secrets these days can be revealed. Many people unfortunately will scan eBay and later deduct and conclude that it does not work, that is why I am an extremely to show this- the majority will not put to practice their own formula with such process. So, if you are worth $0.00 per hour now or are in negative $0.00 right now, does it take money to make money?

Finding a Wholesale Business online is one of the business components Joaquin serves as reference source, e-commerce coach and certified author. His focus today is assisting people receive extra income through the acquirement of a Wholesale Distributor

How to Drop Ship Your eBay Auctions - By Fred Farah

Are You Getting the Product to Your Customer

the Easy Way or the Hard Way?

If you hope to own an eBay business, and make a full time living at it, you can easily make that dream come true – even if you don’t have a product of your own to sell. eBay provides many people who want to quit their corporate nine-to-five jobs with a way to make a good living, without having to put up a heavy load of start up capital.

This is made possible with the help of drop shippers. Drop shippers send merchandise to the customers of business owners. If you have an eBay business, you are a business owner. This will allow you to offer a wide variety of stock in your eBay store, without having the need to warehouse all of those products!

All you have to do is set up your auction, and sell the product. You then pass the customer’s information on to the drop shipping company. The drop shipper does the rest, and they will even use your company information, as well as your company logo if you have provided it to them. When the product arrives at your customer’s home, they will have no idea that your company didn’t send it. The drop shipper will package, label, and ship the products that you sell, allowing you more time to set up even more auctions, for greater profits.

You must establish a relationship with several drop shipping companies in order to become successful. In the beginning, most companies will require you to pay for the items that your customers order before they are shipped. You need to fill orders in a timely manner, so you should pay for the items with a credit card for speedy service. Eventually, you will be able to have the drop shipper fill your orders, and
then bill you for them later.

When you set up your eBay auctions, make sure that your reserve price is set higher than the price that the drop shipper will be charging you for the item. The idea, of course, is to earn a profit! Depending on the item you are selling, a markup of about 10% should be about right, but you should do some research to see if the item is selling for a lower price in another eBay auction, or through other online sources.

By starting an eBay business using the drop shipping method, there is essentially no financial risk involved. The product will be sold before you pay the drop shipper for the item. This is one of the few businesses where you can actually turn a profit before you have to pay for the products purchased and sold!

Should You Clear Checks Before Posting Goods You Sell on eBay? - By Avril Harper

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone has asked me that question and that way I’d probably make more money than I’ve ever lost by posting goods before checks clear – or don’t clear as the case might be!

It is a problem, especially for new eBay sellers – you don’t want to celebrate your first few sales on eBay only to find the checks bounce for goods you’ve already sent to winning bidders.

The problem for newcomers is one of fearing negative feedback for not delivering the goods immediately after payment arrives, even though checks take up to seven days to clear (or to bounce!)

Thankfully, there are ways round the problem and I can honestly say I invariably send goods before checks clear and I’ve only ever been let down twice! For tiny amounts!

My view is that most people are honest, few will bounce checks and, for small amounts (less than $20 in my books) I always send the goods without clearing checks first. The same goes for payments awaiting clearance through PayPal. My philosophy has always been: it’s not worth making the honest majority wait for their goods just because a tiny few payments might be dishonoured. You need to keep your good customers happy, lead them to buy from you again, and nothing works better than fulfilling the goods and trusting them to honour their side of the bargain.

That said, if a lot of money is involved (you must decide this level for yourself) or the buyer looks ‘iffy’, I break my own rule and let payment clear first.

With experience these are the rules I apply which you are free to copy in your business:

* Check buyer feedback, look for high feedback scores (100 plus) from sellers, look for any negatives or neutrals indicating payment disputes. Be wary of feedback representing tiny amounts of money which might indicate your winning bidder has grown feedback fast on penny items to turn tail and scam subsequent sellers of more expensive items.

* Risk low amounts to new buyers without high feedback scores, but not if feedback already indicates a problem customer. For example, I would never send goods money uncleared for anyone with negative feedback or low positive feedback with plentiful negatives. Incidentally, you can program your listings to refuse bids from anyone with negative feedback scores, -1, -2, for example. The place to do this is in the ‘Buyer Requirements’ Section of the ‘Payment & Postage’ section of the selling process.

* Decide a maximum acceptable sum beyond which you will let all monies clear before sending the goods. I use $20 but I will go much higher for buyers with good feedback who have been registered on eBay for more than a few months and for anyone with whom I have already had a trouble-free transaction.

* Bear in mind banks charge you when payment fails, unlike PayPal where you won’t be charged. I recommend PayPal for all your transactions and, as for all of those derogatory things being said and written about PayPal, I don’t believe any of it!

* There is one time I do clear checks before sending the goods. It’s when someone buys, the check hasn’t even arrived yet, and the winning bidder begins hassling me about delivery times or, worse still, threatens negative feedback if I don’t get the product to them fast. In my experience payment from people like this have always failed. I tend to ignore this rule for past buyers, and any long registered eBayers with good feedback, but not new eBayers or others with poor or no feedback.

There is a problem here, being new eBayers with low positive feedback, in which case I check feedback from people who’ve sold to them already. If those sellers also have low feedback, I smell a conspiracy, if they are well-known sellers with lots of positive feedback, I relent and send the goods. BUT I NEVER SEND THE GOODS FAST WITHOUT CLEARING PAYMENT WHEN I AM THREATENED WITH NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!

Cheap Buys Anyone? - By Fatia Hashim

SHOPPING! Yes, subject close to women’s heart. And like most Singaporeans I love to spend my time going to shopping malls when we run out of ideas of what to do for the weekend. It’s nice to be able to see all the beautiful things the stores and shops have to offer until I know whether the warehouse sale is offering good price or just putting their excess stocks from the store sale and transfer into warehouse sale.

But many times there we get more gracious discounts during the warehouse sales. Unfortunately, most of them are just clearing their stores to make way for new shipment. They do not put branded bags and many more with names that are more famous. Not that I am brand-conscious, but these stuffs are better buys with qualities. I have never been a gentle person, so I need those with good quality to endure my careless treatment. And to buy branded goods can burn holes in our pockets.

So how do I solve this problem. Since I cannot afford, I started to check on Ebay & Yahoo auctions where you will be surprised some super-rich like to get rid of. Some members have unused, brand new items which are gifts received but not to your taste or style. Or some items that they bought on impulse but do not use.

And to share some good buys which I have collected is a used but in excellent condition Coach handbag, a brand new original Sony Ericsson earpiece costing twenty dollars instead of sixty-eight dollars in the market, a well-maintained three-seater bamboo sofa matching my original expensive set in the living room at a cheap-dirt price.

So check out the items in the auctions. You can see many great items to buy without leaving the home.

The fact is reputations can be made or broken pretty quickly if honest is questioned by buyers or a tarnish is put on reputation due to a bad transaction. This reason alone is enough to make honesty the biggest eBay selling tip out there, but it’s not the only one.

· Repeat business. While dishonest people can and do sell on this site, they tend not to get the repeat business those who follow the number one eBay selling tip do. Since reputations are everything and feedback is easy to give, it’s important to follow this eBay selling tip can keep honesty as a virtue.

If the main eBay selling tip is followed, settling disputes will likely go much smoother. It’s even possible for those who follow this eBay selling tip to turn lemons into lemon aid as far as feedback is concerned.

· Higher bids. While this won’t always pan out as a result of this eBay selling tip, it can. Buyers are more apt to bid higher amounts if they truly believe they can trust a seller to deliver what he or she says. If the main eBay selling tip is followed, this potential is unlocked. Think about it, would you bid $500 on a trading card from someone with no prior reputation, or worse, a person that has a reputation for not delivering? No! And, neither do the people on eBay, in most cases.

There are a whole lot of different eBay selling tip ideas out there, but the one to hold tightest is honesty. If you approach selling with integrity, rewards very often come on this site.

eBay Store Software Can Make Selling Easier - By Milos Pesic

Many people have jumped on the eBay bandwagon, learning quickly this online auction and direct sales marketplace can open doors for individuals and businesses alike. By driving thousands of potential buyers to users’ wares each day, the site can be a literal goldmine when it’s tapped into. There is even eBay store software out there now to make the process of setting up shop even easier.

The idea behind eBay store software is to help individuals and businesses that want to set up virtual storefronts on this site do so with ease. As eBay gets even bigger, the choices in eBay store software are getting better all the time, too. For those who aren’t aware, eBay isn’t just for single item sales anymore. The site allows for the creation of full shops so users can consolidate their auctions and sales in one place. The eBay store software package options just make this easier.

When looking for eBay store software, there are a few things that should be considered:

· Compatibility: Make sure any eBay store software that you buy into actually works on the site. If it doesn’t, you will want to look elsewhere for eBay store software.

· Pricing: Most eBay store software programs aren’t very expensive. If you’re being asked to invest too much, keep looking.

· Consolidation functions: Good eBay store software programs will enable users to easily consolidate management functions on a single program. Rather than having to traverse the eBay site to list and re-list auctions, for example, eBay store software that’s good will help do this for all your entries in a single location.

· Checkout features: Some eBay store software programs also offer the perk of helping buyers add to the checkout options available. For example, they’ll help manage Pay Now functions, high bidder alerts and more.

· Multiple sales site support: Good eBay store software takes into account eBay isn’t one site any more and it doesn’t just offer a single way to buy. The better eBay store software programs are designed to work with straight auctions, fixed price sales and on other eBay sites such as the British version and even eBay Motors.

The idea behind eBay store software is to help those with multiple items keep track of everything easily. These eBay store software programs can be particularly helpful for businesses that rely on eBay for a lot of traffic and even individuals that want to take their auctions to the next level.

There are a number of different eBay store software programs now available. As the site becomes even more popular, the choices will likely keep getting better. Just remember, if an eBay store software package doesn’t sound like it will make listing and managing easier, it might not be for you.

eBay Selling is the Ideal Home Business - By Brian McGregor

eBay selling is the ultimate new-start opportunity for your home based business. In my opinion, it beats any other type of internet marketing for two reasons. First, eBay is the easiest way to make money on the internet. And second, it's the quickest way to make money on the internet.

Another item of proof you might like to consider when deciding if eBay selling is for you, is that 430,000 people in the USA alone say that eBay is their sole or their major source of income.

I don't believe there's any other method of internet marketing which can produce success numbers like those.

When you think about this, it isn't surprising that eBay is my recommendation. Internet marketing is a vast topic, requiring that you know about a huge number of techniques and tactics. Even as you're acquiring your internet marketing knowledge, it falls out of date as the internet keeps developing. Two years ago internet marketers were promoting AdSense as the way to make money on the internet. Last year, co-registration was the way to make your fortune. This year they're telling you that you need to become an expert in Social Bookmarking and Web 2.0. If you've never heard of any of these, don't worry. You've saved yourself lots of money and time!

I don't know about you, but what I want from the internet is a way to make money easily.

I simply want to be able to offer something for sale via the internet, and then make a fair profit when it's bought by somebody. A reasonable desire, but there's a huge problem...

The hardest part of internet marketing is getting people to see what you have to offer. There are billions of websites out there, and you're competing against all of them for traffic!

This is where eBay selling comes in.

eBay already gets massive visitor traffic. Truly massive. When I last checked on Alexa, eBay was the most visited shopping site in the world, pushing Amazon into second place.

eBay have invested hugely in the necessary marketing activity to get traffic, and it's all there waiting for you.

All you have to do is to persuade a tiny fraction of those visitors to see what you're selling.

Plus, you can test a product within days, and there are virtually no limits as to what you can sell on eBay. When selling on eBay you can get involved in any area in which you have an interest or expertise.

The figures regarding the growth of eBay are impressive. As I write this, eBay have just announced their 2006 annual results.

* 2004.1 million listings in 2006.

* $52.5 billion value of auctions sales 2006.

* $6 billion Gross Profit in 2006.

* 221.6 million eBay members as at 31 December, 2006.

* On average, 112,300 new members joined eBay each day throughout 2006.

* $37.7 billion value of PayPal payments 2006.

* 133 million PayPal accounts as at 31 December, 2006.

All of this is great news for us!

The eBay market place is thriving, and we should all be able to thrive with it.

If you're in the market to make extra money, and you want to do it through online auctions, then eBay selling is definitely the business for you.

Brian McGregor is an expert in eBay selling. He also publishes the eBay Auction Newsletter which is subscribed to by 50,000 eBay members.

The need for reliable wholesale dropshippers is in very high demand.

Whether you are looking for merchandise to sell on ebay, or a local retail shop, having suppliers that will provide quality products at cheap prices is critical to your business success. So here are some tips for what to look for with wholesale distributors and suppliers.

Tips of What to Look For in Wholesale Dropshippers And Wholesale Product Suppliers:

Tip #1: You need wholesale suppliers that will provide a variety of goods that you can sell at heavily discounted prices.

Depending on what you are selling on ebay, this may not always be an easy request for your wholesale supplier. And example of this is if your supplier delivers a wholesale product only in bulk. In this case, you should try to request a sample of the item.

And remember, if you are unable to get good service from your wholesale dropshipper, it may be time to find a new supplier.

Tip #5: You need to stay up-to-date on the wholesale distributor and supplier industry.

Just as your retail or ebay business will change over time, the wholesale supplier industry will change as well. And because the buying market can also change very quickly, you'll need access to the latest information in order to stay ahead of your competitors.

How To Start An Ebay Drop-Shipping Business With Zero Dollars Out Of Pocket - By Jordan Milton

Is it possible to start a successful Ebay drop-shipping business for zero out of pocket? Yes, it is! The problem is that there are hundreds of supposed drop-shippers online and many so called "instant auction success kits" and all but two are useless. There are only two Ebay approved drop-shippers and joining either one is the first step to creating an Ebay work at home business drop-shipping business.

For those who are unfamiliar with drop-shipping it works like this:

You locate products to sell from a database of over 250,000 products.

You can use tools through your drop-shipper that allow you to select products, set pricing and automatically send them to eBay.

Your item sells on eBay and you receive payment through Paypal.

You purchase the product from the drop-shipper using your Paypal funds. You pay the wholesale price and keep the profit.

The drop-shipper will process and ship it to your customer. They will handle any returns, exchanges or problems or instruct you how to resolve the issue through the manufacturer when warranties apply.

You will have tracking information on every order.

You can expect to spend at least a good week getting your business set up. The good news is that you will probably already have made a profit by day 5, and once you have set up all your products the business will pretty much run itself without a whole lot more effort on your part, but I am getting ahead of things. Let's start from square one, shall we?

To start your business you are going to need:

A Paypal account

An eBay account

A drop-shipper account

As we already said, there are many supposed drop-shippers out there that are nothing but a scam.

There are only two Ebay approved drop-shippers and only one drop-shipper is fully integrated with Ebay. Follow the links at the end of this article to explore them both and decide which is right for you. Both charge membership fees but the fee structures differ greatly.

If you choose to go with a free trial drop-shipping account then by the time you need to pay membership dues you will have easily earned more than enough money to cover your monthly dues.

Remember I told you it would cost $0 out of pocket? Here's how:

Sign up for the free 7 day trial

Make a real effort to get things started

Call customer service or contact live chat on the fourth or fifth day of your trial. Let them know how hard you have been working and that you very much would like to extend your trial period so your auctions have time to run their coarse, you can get a better feel for the system, etc.... I was able to get my trial period extended to a full month by taking this approach. Take the time to ask them any and every question you have since you are on the phone anyway! The customer service reps are amazing and it is well worth taking advantage of their expertise.

Work your butt off during the trial period and you will easily earn the few bucks your membership will cost you and more. Then you can pay your membership with your earning and thus have a $0 start up. In fact in my first two weeks I earned enough to pay for a one year membership at a huge discount which leads me to step 5....

When you have convinced yourself how wonderful your new business is and you are ready to pay your membership dues DON'T!!! Don't do a thing until you call the customer service department back and ask to speak with someone in the promotions department. They will be offer you HUGE discounts on your membership and they will usually throw in free tools as well.

Before you go any further you need to take some time getting familiar with Ebay, Paypal and your drop-shipper. Explore each site carefully. Read about Ebay's fees (you will not have to pay any fees up front to use Ebay but you will need to understand the fee structure to price your items properly). Get extremely comfortable with the tools and products offered by your drop-shipper. If you run into any questions or problems along the way contact the customer support for the site you have issues with and they will be glad to assist you. It will be much easier for you to follow the rest of this guide if you have a basic understanding of your new accounts first.

Now that you have a feel for the tools you will be using there are five more areas we need to cover in detail to make sure you are off to a solid start. My free detailed start up guide looks at:

Product Selection-You have instant access to over 250,000 products to pick from. Find out how to determine which products to sell.

Product Pricing-How to set prices that will earn you the best conversions.

Traffic-There are over 60 million Ebayers out there. Learn how to drive them to your listings.

Things to Avoid-Find out the most common mistakes newbies make.

Advanced Tools-Reviews of some of the best tools available to expand your business when you are ready

How to Really Make Money on Ebay - By Jinger Jarrett

Marketing on auctions is nothing new. Although Ebay is the most popular auction site on the internet, plenty of auctions sites have sprung up because of Ebay's success.

Many people are quietly making thousands of dollars per month marketing their products on Ebay. What isn't really well known is the number of people who are making thousands of dollars every month through the Ebay affiliate program.

Ebay offers one of the most generous affiliate programs on the internet, paying up to 65 percent per transaction. Not only can affiliates make more money by recommending the program, but they can also make a lot of money from people buying and selling on Ebay.

To get started with Ebay, you first need to join the affiliate program. You can do this by either joining through Commission Junction or Mediaplex.

Once you've joined, then you'll need to decide what you want to market. Ebay has plenty of tools to help you decide, like categories, as well as wishlists, marketplace research, and Ebay trends.

Some of the services offered here are free, and some of them are paid. You will need to decide if you want to spend money on these tools when finding your niche.

Once you've decided on the segment of products you want to market on Ebay, then you need to decide what type of site you want to build.

You can buy scripts that will make it easy for you to sell various segments of the Ebay marketplace. This is probably the easiest way to get started.

You can also use the affiliate center at Ebay to help you with building your site. Again, Ebay has a lot of tools to help you make these decisions.

Ebay's affiliate center offers everything from RSS feeds you can integrate into your site, to the Editor Kit and Product Kit. Be careful here though. Although RSS feeds are search engine friendly, javascript is not. Javascript will make your website dynamic (the content updates automatically), but the search engines can't read it. It won't help your search engine rankings.

Once you've built your site, then you need to market. How you market your new site will depend on which internet marketing techniques you believe will be the most effective for you. You can start by optimizing your site for the search engines and then submitting to the search engines.

You can also use free classified ad sites like Craig's List, as well as US Free Ads.

If this seems like too much, you can also search Ebay and simply buy websites outright. How you decide to build your business from Ebay is totally up to you.

Jinger Jarrett wants to give you her free site building software. Killer Marketing Arsenal Ezine. Affiliate Business Demo Site. Visit her marketplace to learn how to build your Ebay site: Internet Marketing Tools.
