The Necessity of Starting Your Own eBay Store - By Joshua Watson

According to eBay, "over 75% of eBay store owners say that opening an eBay store has significantly increased their sales" (eBay, 2007). Quite simply, if you buy and sell on eBay, either as a hobby or full time job, you are falling behind if you do not have your own eBay store.

Of course eBay charges a nominal fee of $15.95 a month however, the tools as resources you get access to can more than justify the cost. In fact, many of the tools can be used to help your non-eBay store related sales!

Build Your Store: The entire process is done through an easy to use interface that allows you to customize your store with very little effort. You can categorize your products and manage your inventory, all with the click of a button. In addition your store design will assist in your branding efforts. eBay offers great customer assistance, should you run into any difficulties.

Control Sales: Another benefit to starting your own eBay store is having access to the eBay sales management tools. You can easily adjust prices on the fly and offer limited time only sales. It's all about marketing your products and if you have an easy way to get new information to your customers, you will be one step ahead of the competition.

A Complete Package: In addition to the features listed above, an eBay store comes with a host of in-house marketing tools. Each tool is designed to help you drive traffic and increase your sales. Add that to the built in tracking system and you are looking at a set of resources that you would be crazy not to make use of.

There are a host of testimonials available on eBay to "entice" you into opening your own eBay store. Unlike most added features on other products, starting your own eBay store is actually a good idea and in the end you are only out 15 dollars. Opening your eBay store cannot hurt or decrease your sales in any way.

If you have not tried to have your own eBay store, it's never too late to begin. The process is simple and user friendly. If you are serious about starting an eBay store, click on "Sellers", then "Open a Store" once you are on your eBay home page. There are 8 basic steps in setting up your store:

  1. Choose a color theme.
  2. Click continue.
  3. Enter your store's name
  4. Give a description of your store.
  5. Choose a few graphics to help the appearance of your store.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Sign up for the basic store ($15.95 a month).
  8. Click the supplied link to further customize your store.

Starting Your Own Online Auction - By Greg Post

EBay. What A Great Idea. Why Didn't I Think Of That?

EBay is the result of a brilliant idea. In fact it has become a phenomenon. In many households the word "eBay" threads its way through common language.

"Hey Joe. How have you been? Sold anything on eBay lately?"

It has become a part of our culture because it gives so many people what they want. Whether you are on the buying or selling side of the street eBay has something for you. It is great for almost everyone.

But it is an especially good idea for eBay. Why? Because eBay does not do the hard work. You do. You are the one who...

  • finds the products
  • negotiates the price
  • stores inventory
  • takes care of the packaging and shipping
  • stands behind product quality

EBay supplies the internet traffic and receives a small fee for its efforts. Perhaps more importantly... eBay owns the traffic.

What If You Started Your Own Online Action?

What? Compete With EBay?

Absolutely not. Do not try to go head to head with eBay. But consider this... you are already doing the heavy lifting. You are already doing the hard part. What if you could own the internet traffic too? What if you could invest in your own business instead of eBay's?

How? Carve out a niche unique to you. Build an information rich website that gives people more than an opportunity to buy and sell.

The main commodity on the internet is information. That is why we surf the net. We want to know. By creating a content rich website you can become the expert that provides information for your target audience.

In fact, do more than become the expert. Share your knowledge friend-to-friend with others who have similar interests and passions. Since you have common interests you will be able to anticipate your visitor's wants, objections, and fears. As your traffic grows your readers will come to trust you more and more as an expert. They will become more inclined to follow your advice. And why shouldn't they? They trust you. They even like you.

Your website is not a sterile environment where things are bought and sold. It is more like a fraternity where people come together with a common interest. And part of this fraternity involves a place for your online auction where you specialize in products specific to your niche audience.

There is a much greater benefit to your customer. But there is also a greater benefit to you. You are no longer investing in another online auction company. You are investing in yours. It is your business. It is your online traffic. It is your niche. If someone wants to be a part of that niche they must come to you.

Of course having an auction is not your only opportunity. Once you own the niche (internet traffic) you can offer your customers other products and services. Anything useful to your visitors can become a part of your offering.

Perhaps you are happy with using eBay. But that is more like having an e-Job. Wouldn't it be better to own an e-Business?

Greg’s website http://www.make-your-own-website-wealth.com is committed to helping ordinary people build successful web businesses. The internet provides great opportunities to those who desire to turn their passions into profitable niche websites.

How To Quickly Become A Trusted Seller On eBay - By Gary Ruplinger

The Fast Way To Become A Trusted eBay Seller

If you’re just starting out selling on eBay, you may find it tough to sell your products are decent prices, especially if you’re selling high priced items like electronics.

The problem is that when you’re a new seller is that you lack feedback, and a low or nonexistent feedback score is a red flag to any buyer that you might be a crook trying to scam them.

To make the problem even worse, there are some features that you can’t use on eBay until you get enough feedback.

So what’s a person to do? Well, if you’re serious about selling on eBay, then you’ll embark on what I like to call a Fast Feedback Campaign.

You’re going to want to budget about $50-$100 to start buying small items, like $.99 reports, CDs, or other low priced items. Try to buy at least 20 different items, and try to find items that you can either resell (even if you lose money on it – that’s okay), or buy cheap reports that teach you how to make more money on eBay.

Make sure that you pay promptly for everything. Within just a few days, you’ll have built your feedback score up from nearly nothing to just a small but less suspicious looking number.

However, you’re still not out of the woods yet. After all, some savvy buyers will notice that all your feedback is from buying items, not selling, so they might still be suspicious of you and will be reluctant to trust you. Your next step is to start selling items, but don’t start out with high priced items. If you can get your hands on cheap items that you can sell on eBay (try to at least break even, but a small loss is okay – this is still feedback building), such as CDs or books, do it and start selling cheap items on eBay. Sell these items as quickly as possible so that you can get your feedback built up. Once you have your feedback score up above fifty (you’ll need to sell more than fifty items to get to this number as not all buyers leave feedback), and when people look at your feedback, they see that you already have satisfied customers, they won’t be reluctant to purchase from you anymore.

If you’ve done a really good job of pleasing your customers, you may make it more likely that your customers will purchase from you than someone who has a higher feedback score but also has some negative remarks in their score.

Remember that good feedback becomes especially important the higher the cost of your items. People are far more likely to take a chance buying a DVD for $10 from a low feedback seller than they are to buy a $1300 video camera.

Keep these tips in mind and you’ll have not trouble building up trust with your potential customers right from the start.

Don't Lose Money With PayPal - By Corry Cummings

Most of anyone who has ever dealt with PayPal for any decent amount of time would probably agree that PayPal can really cause a lot of problems at times. PayPal really controls everything you do with your business. They control what you sell on eBay, how you sell it, and even the money that you get for selling it. PayPal practically owns you if you use it to rely on your full income. As much control as you think you have over your money when dealing with PayPal, they have even more.

PayPal can do whatever they want, and nobody is going to do anything about it. Unfortunately for all of us eBay users, there is nothing we can do. Not accepting PayPal as a payment method is like committing eBay seller suicide. The chances of you succeeding without PayPal are not very good. There are a couple different reasons that I personally have a big problem with PayPal, and I am sure others will agree. The first reason is because PayPal can do whatever they want with your money, and you cannot control it. The next reason is that they can limit your account for whatever they want, for however long they want. Having a limited account for a long enough time can put you out of business.

Let me get into a little bit of details with what I am talking about here.

Limited PayPal Account: PayPal puts limitations on your account, usually leaving you limited to be able to sign into your account and send money to your account. Very rarely you will be able to still accept payments. Most of the time you will not be able to accept payments to your PayPal account, and you will not be able to get any money from your PayPal account.

You can see where the problem can come in. When PayPal limits your account, they are pretty much closing your online business until they feel like letting you open it back up. Your account can be limited for months at times. Now imagine (and maybe you already are) that you care making a living using eBay, and you get paid through PayPal. What would happen if for a month or two you could not get any money out of your PayPal account, and you could not accept any payments. That could cause a lot of problems, and it would be all because of your PayPal account getting limited.

Why will your account get limited? Will they warn you before it happens?

Your PayPal account can get limited for any reason at all. The last time my account was limited it was because I was supposedly “linked” to another PayPal account that had a negative balance. I had never heard of this person before and had no idea who it was, but somehow I was linked to this account. My PayPal account was limited for 41 day, even though whoever this person was brought their PayPal account back to a positive balance after 3 days. PayPal just kept on coming up with different reasons for my account to stay limited, and none of them made any sense. Fortunately because of the techniques I use to avoid letting PayPal stop my business from running (that I will tell you about shortly) I did not lose any money at all. Of course, this was not the first time my account was limited, and I have lost a lot of money because of PayPal in the past.

So you can see that PayPal really does have control over your business and your money. There is however, plenty of ways to avoid letting PayPal do this to you. There are two pretty simple things that I do to make sure I have control over my business and my money. The first thing I do is make sure that I NEVER leave money in my PayPal account. I withdrawal from my PayPal account every single day. I also have a PayPal debit card which makes it very easy to withdrawal my money right away. The next thing I do to make sure that I will always be able to take orders from customers through PayPal is to make sure I have access to multiple PayPal accounts.

Now as far as the multiple PayPal account technique goes, I do not want to tell you what to do with that because I have been told that the method I am using to have multiple PayPal accounts will eventually catch up with me, and they will all get linked and closed. I never want to send you in the wrong direction, but you get what I am saying. The point is that you never want to leave money in your PayPal account, and you always want some other way to accept payments through PayPal even if your main account gets closed.

I also just started reading a guide that shows exactly how to get around all of my eBay and PayPal problems without having multiple accounts and worrying about the money in my account. I have been told that the techniques in this book are great. Once I get finished reading it I will be writing an article about it. I will not however, disclose the too much of the information that is in the book out of respects for the author. You can check out this book here, it is highly recommended personally by me. It will save you a LOT of money throughout your eBay career, along with an unlimited amount of frustrations.

For More information about how to be successful on eBay visit my website. I will soon be writing another article about the book I am currently reading to give you a better way to protect your business and your money.

How To Build Your Credibility Through Your eBay Feedback Rating - By Tony Yao

As you might have already figured out, the way to build your credibility and reputation in eBay is by collecting as many positive feedback as possible.

For those of you who are new to eBay, here is how feedback rating works. Every member of eBay, be it seller or buyer, has a feedback rating. Feedback rating is your reputation in eBay. It tells other members of eBay how honourable your transactions (both selling and buying) have been in the past. Both buyers and sellers can leave feedback for each other. There are three types of feedback: positive (+1), neutral (0), and negative (-1). Your feedback rating is the number of positive feedback you have received expressed as a percentage of your total feedback.

It should be obvious by now that as an eBay seller you should be aiming for a perfect feedback rating (100%). There are millions of sellers in eBay and the only way for potential customers to tell which seller to pick is from their feedback. I can't underscore the importance of feedback rating more as it is really the cornerstone of your business.

There are a few things you can do to build up your feedback rating, especially when you have just started.

1. Be a buyer.

Remember when I said that you get feedback rating regardless of whether you are a seller or buyer? Use this to your advantage. When you are new to eBay, the only way for you to quickly build your feedback rating is by becoming a buyer. EBay does not distinguish between buyer and seller feedback. Try to be clever by buying things that you can resell later or that your business can use so you don't waste your money.

2. Provide excellent customer support.

It's of vital importance that you treat your existing and potential customers with respect. Always answer their questions promptly and courteously. You should also provide a clear description of your items in the listings, and make sure that the photos are realistic and reflect the actual condition of the items.

3. Always include a money-back guarantee.

This is a prime rule that you should never ever neglect. Don't ever say that buyers can't return the items because this will turn them away to other sellers who provide money-back guarantee. Always write clearly in your listings that buyers can return the items they bought within a certain time period, no question asked. It is unlikely that you will get lots of returned items. The increased credibility and trust that you get is certainly worth the hassle of handling returned items.

In the unfortunate circumstances that you do get a negative feedback, deal with it calmly. Always remain courteous when contacting the buyer. Ask if you can do anything to remedy the problem. Offer a refund if this would help solve the problem. Do whatever is in your power to persuade the buyer to retract the negative feedback.

There are virtually countless strategies you can employ to establish your credibility in eBay, I hope some of them that I have outlined above would be of benefit to you.

Make Money On eBay - Easily - By Joanna Payge

I am a seller on eBay, and here are my top tips for how to make money on eBay easily. This is aimed at helping newcomers to make money on eBay, starting with some important basics.

Firstly, when you register on eBay you need to choose a name (eBay ID). Give this serious thought, don’t just key in something that is significant for you – why? Because if you want to be taken seriously by the buyers on eBay, your name should look professional and ideally relate to the kind of things you want to sell, and be memorable.

The same goes for the name of your eBay store when you open one, a little later. Your name and shop name could tie in together. E.g. If you are going to sell gems, your ID might be ‘gemster’ or ‘justgems’ and your shop might be called ‘gemsters gems’ or similar. Who would a buyer trust (and also remember) if they were torn between your gems and another ebayer’s gems, if your competitor was called ‘plutredoper’ ? (Yes, I know that name makes no sense, and you’d be amazed how many ebay ID’s are like this).

Regarding what to sell on eBay, what are your interests and passions? Because if there is an area that inspires you, you are more likely to put your heart and soul into it than if you just choose an area because you think it will make you money. So if you love books, or maps, or cards, or cd’s or dvd’s or jewellery or whatever, research that area first. If you specialise in a ‘niche’ area you will be much more successful – just study the powersellers on eBay. These are the most successful eBayers. A niche is a specialised section of a larger marketplace. For instance, if you want to sell jewellery it’s best to focus on a particular type of jewellery e.g. body jewellery, silver jewellery, brooches, charms and so on. If you make it yourself even better because you can let people know they cannot get that item anywhere else in the world.

To find out what sells well on eBay, log in to eBay and press the ‘buy’ tab. Choose the category you want to research e.g. silver jewellery, then on the lower left-hand side of the page click on ‘completed listings’. Then on the top right of the page go to ‘sort by’ and choose ‘price highest first’. You can then see which items had the most bids, which didn’t sell at all and which fetched the highest price! All this is invaluable research that will save you wasting a lot of time and money on the wrong products.

Where do you then find items to sell on eBay? Again, do your homework first. Some items you may be able to get on eBay itself – just key in ‘wholesale jewellery’ or whatever your niche area is, into the search box and see what comes up. Sellers will list items in bulk that you can then sell individually. You can also get items from car boot sales (such as books, maps, cd’s etc), auctions houses, product directories, local designers (check the local yellow pages or do a search on google). You can also use Dropshippers, but I wouldn’t recommend this to start with as it can be an unreliable method.

The key to eBay success is follow your passion, do your reasearch (lots of it) and follow what the successful eBayers do.

The Four Keys to Government Auctions - By Richard Titmas

Government auctions are one of the best places to purchase nearly new merchandise for as much as 90% off list price. Brand-name merchandise from cars to jewelry is gathered by many different means and by various government entities, which are then stored until the next scheduled auction. Agencies such as the DEA, FBI, Customs, the IRS, and local agencies such as the Police Department and Sheriff’s Department all have scheduled auctions in every city and state in the nation.

Many times these auctions are held monthly due to the cost of storing these items and the need to make room for future items. That is why an auction can be either a great source of wealth or for huge savings on a needed item.

There is a lot of money being made on items purchased through government auctions. Buyers become resellers within online auctions. Did you ever wonder when browsing on eBay, how one seller may have 20 of the same item up for bid? It is a good possibility that they purchased a quantity of that item at a government auction for next to nothing. All over the web you see ads for purchasing cars at huge savings at government auctions. This is a very true statement. Let me give you an example. There was an article in our local newspaper several months ago about a gentleman that purchased a $120,000 dollar Rolls Royce that belonged to a convicted drug dealer. He purchased this luxury vehicle for the mere sum of $400.00. I know what you are thinking; this is an urban legend or some kind of farce. When in fact, the reason he was able to purchase this automobile for such a bargain price, was for the simple reason that he was informed, and the only one that showed to bid. He was as shocked as anyone.

What most people don’t think about when it comes to items being sold at government auctions, is that merchandise available for bid are not always confiscated from some drug raid, or by the seizure of an item due to someone’s unfortunate need to payoff a lien. Many auctions contain merchandise such as computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines used in government offices all over the country. Fleet cars used n day to day activities, old law enforcement cars, etc. These items have to be surplussed, and by most jurisdictional laws, have to go to auction and sold to the highest bidder. These items are often sold by the pallet, but many times are sold individually. Complete computer systems often go for as little as $50.00. There are four basic keys that every auction bidder must be familiar with before buying at a government auction. I call these the four I’s, Inform, Investigate, Inspect, and Initiate.

1) Inform yourself of the various locations of these auctions, the items available within the auction, the time frame available to view the items, the true market value of the items that you intend to bid on, what is the expected means of payment, is there a fee involved with the purchase, are sales final, and who do you contact to ask these questions. Your edge comes from information. Information is power, and power equals success. I cannot stress this enough, gather as much information ahead of time as possible.

2) Investigate the items that you intend to bid on thoroughly. What is the condition of the item? If you are buying a diamond ring, what is the quality of the diamond? If you are buying a car, what shape is the body? What is the mechanical condition of car? Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

3) Inspect the item that you are going to be bidding on. Although you are not suppose to be mislead when bidding on an item at an online auction, it does happen, whether it is intentional or not is beside the point. These people are not necessarily experts. With such diversity in items offered, it would be impossible to be an expert on everything offered. I like to see the items in person. If you are not comfortable with your own knowledge, get an expert to assist you.

4) Initiate the purchase. Once you are comfortable with your decision, do not procrastinate, and do not hesitate. Know what you are willing to pay and stick to it. Be very weary of getting wrapped up in the bidding process and paying more than you originally planned. This is very easy to do.

Good luck and good bidding.

Drop Shipping on eBay - By Corry Cummings

Drop shipping on eBay is one of the most common ways to sell on eBay. It’s very simple to get into, and the upfront cost is very little. For those of you who don’t already know drop shipping is just another way to get eBay products. The idea is that you would join a drop shipping company and you would in return get thousands of products at wholesale price to sell online, or on eBay. If you were going to sell them on eBay you would list whatever it is you want to sell before you buy it. That is the best feature of drop shipping, you never have to buy eBay products up front. You only buy what you have already sold.

Once your item sells, you go to your drop shipping company and order the eBay product that you have already sold. With most drop shipping companies, you can pay for the item through PayPal. So you take the money that the buyer sent to your PayPal account to purchase the item, then you keep whatever is left over as profit for yourself. Then there is the next greatest feature of drop shipping. The drop shipping company will ship the item straight to your buyer, so you never have to do any shipping or packaging yourself. So it’s no wonder that drop shipping is so popular among eBay sellers.

As easy as it sounds to use the technique to make money on eBay, it really isn’t that easy. It takes a lot of work, and a lot of research. Many people don’t have the right mindset to sell this way on eBay. It isn’t as easy as just signing up for a drop shipping company and then throwing stuff up on eBay; that just won’t work.

The first, and most important thing to understand about drop shipping is to realize that you are not going to get anywhere unless you find a GOOD drop shipping company. The majority of the drop shipping companies are complete rip offs. I have joined a few myself, and I must confess that I have had my share of getting ripped off by these companies. I guess that is what I developed my eBay Mysteries website for though; to make sure that other people don’t have to make the same mistakes as I have in my dealing with eBay.

Things to look for to find a good drop shipping company

Money-Back guarantee. Make sure the company offers a money back guarantee, so if you don’t like what you get from the service you can get your money back. You deserve to know what the service is like, before you get stuck with it.

Phone Support. Make sure there is good customer service and phone support. Many drop shipping companies don’t have phone support and have terrible customer service. Never go with a company that has no phone service.

Good wholesale prices. The prices for the products will not be as cheap as large bulk wholesale suppliers, but they should definitely be cheaper then your local retail store. (Remember, do the research)

Fast Shipping. Make sure the products will get shipped in a reasonable time. I had a drop shipping company one time that took an average of two weeks before they even shipped the item out.

Quality Products. Make sure the products you are going to be selling are brand named products. Sounds simple, but you would be surprised.
United States Based. For those of you who are from the United States, and are primarily targeting US customers, make sure the company is based in the United States.

The next most important part of running a successful business on eBay using drop shipping would be to find your niche. Like I said before, don’t go and just throw stuff up on eBay hoping to make a quick buck. It takes time, and work. Once you get it going, it takes very little work and a minimal effort. Until you get to that point, expect to be doing some work. Now lets back up a little bit, I mentioned not throwing just anything up on eBay a couple times already. What you do want to do is pick a category to sell in, and stick to it. I wouldn’t suggest going into consumer electronics either, because it’s way to crowded and you won’t be very successful. Stick to what you know and love. If you don’t know anything, then learn. Pick something that you enjoy and become an expert of your field. For example, if you enjoy poker the way that I do, you may want to consider selling poker supplies. Whatever it is, just stick to that and offer the best products and services. You will be much more successful taking this route.

Although drop shipping is one of the most popular ways to go, and can be a competitive field on eBay it is still a good way to go. Many more people end up giving up before they even have a chance to do well, then those who succeed. If you have what it takes to do well with drop shipping, then you can create a good source of income using drop shipping companies. Visit my site to get details on my suggested drop shipping companies.

Visit my site to get more information about eBay, and dropshipping on eBay. From visiting my site you can learn about the top dropshipping companies in my opinion. With these companies there is no way to get ripped off. http://ebaymysteries.com/

10 Essential Steps To Running A Successful eBay eBook Business - By James Penn

Running an eBay eBook business is perhaps one of the most exciting and potentially profitable online home based business opportunities – but before you jump head first into setting up an eBay eBook business that sky dives its way to failure, read this article and discover the essential steps that you NEED to take in order to run a hugely profitable and successful eBay eBook business.

Step #1

Identify a niche to market to

There are so many eBook sellers on eBay nowadays that you can’t just jump head first into selling any old eBook you find. Don’t compete with the well established eBook sellers, instead find eBook niches that you can target and then dominate that niche.

For example, you could choose to sell eBooks about golf. Once you’ve dominated that micro-niche, move on to other sports such as soccer, tennis etc. This way, while you may not be targeting as many people, you will become an authority and everyone will come to your eBay store for eBooks on these topics.

Step #2

Brand your eBay eBook business

Branding is an important step. It differentiates you from other eBay sellers and creates a recognisable distinction for your eBay business.

It all starts with your eBay username. Choose a username that falls in line with the niche you are targeting. Choose an eBay store name that fits in with what you sell. Create a short slogan that fits in with the items you sell. Develop a template that you use on each of your auctions so your customers will recognize you and your business.

Step #3

Focus on steady but consistent growth

There’s no point listing 100 eBooks in your first few days on eBay. Start slow and grow steadily. Start by selling 3 or 4 different eBooks and add one or two to your library every week. Keep updating your library to keep your customers returning.

Step #4

Identify your main competition and exploit their weaknesses and implement their strengths into your own business

Find the top eBay sellers on eBay. Find what they are doing well and incorporate that into your business (but don’t copy). Find out what they are doing wrong, and make sure you don’t make the same mistakes.

Step #5

Experimentation is the key to success

Once you’ve set up a listing, don’t just continue to relist it exactly how it was before. Play with the title, the sales letter, and the graphics. Make it different and track the results of your changes. Once you have tweaked it a number of times, use the format which converted best for you.

Step #6

Little changes can have drastic effects

You need to realise that tiny changes can have huge effects. Just by changing one word in your auction title could lead to hundreds more people seeing your auction and leading to tens more sales. Make lots of little changes and track your success.

Step #7

The customer is always right – treat them with respect

The customers are the lifeblood of your business – without them you have nothing. Make sure you treat them with respect. Refund them if they want refunding, deal with any problems with a timely manner and always respond to emails.

Step #8

Only sell quality

If you sell poor quality eBooks, then you’ve lost that customer for life. They won’t buy from you again if they think their next purchase will be of the same poor quality. But if you provide them with top quality products, they are more likely to return and spend more money in your eBay store. Always read products before you sell them.

Step #9

Create your own products

Once you’ve set everything up and become known as an authority seller, then develop your own products. It will further enhance your reputation and give you an additional eBook to sell from your store.

Step #10

Build the backend!

This is important! Never sell an eBook on eBay without having some form of upsell. If you sell an eBook about dieting secrets for $5, then upsell with an affiliate product all about exercises to lose weight for $50. This will explode your profits!

eBay Auction = Great Trust for Search Engines!

For those who are running any site with some product or service the value of trusted pages is evident - it's a potential place to get "vote" that is highly trusted by search engines. And this is exactly what selling on eBay can give your sites.

Think about it from the point of view of search engines. eBay is a very trusted and reputable community for every search engine. When a salespage with some product or service is created and search engines index this page - it is very logical for the search engines to "think" that if someone is trying to sell something on eBay, most probably this product or service has real demand from the people. And search engines also know that eBay does certain verification of the vendors. All this consolidates into a big, really big plus for the search engines to rank eBay salespages as trusted resources.

You See: eBay Salespage is a Double Advantage for Your Site and Business...

Advantage #1. You make extra profits from eBay audience who finds your product/service and is likely to purchase if you give a good offer.

Advantage #2. This salespage is a trusted page from which you can have a backlink. A backlink from the page that has very nice keywords on it (because you write some description with the keywords in this description). So, you get a backlink from the trusted page and this page is a relevant content medium.

Why not using this chance? Hurry up to eBay and good luck in creating your salespages.

Easy Money from Garage Sales - By David Taylortown

The majority of information about garage sales on the internet is advising people to hold garage sales to make money. Personally, I don’t think holding a garage sale is a good way to make money. You have to sell everything cheap just to get rid of it.

Unless you have a lot of junk and are a compulsive junk collector this is not a great way to spend your Saturday mornings for a few dollars. Also, you will need to ensure you always have something to sell.

You will make extra cash with a bit of effort and minimum outlay.

There are so many bargains out there – SO BEWARE! This can be addictive and you will get caught up in the ability to get a bargain and make great cash!

OK, you are going to need to get up early for this one. If you want the bargains, you need to get up early. Remember the old saying, ‘the early bird gets the worm’. Well this is fairly applicable in this situation.

Don’t like early starts on your weekend? If so you will miss out on the opportunities to make cash – its as simple as that.

HOT TIP: People that are moving house always have the best bargains and the cheapest items. This is for obvious reasons – they need to get rid of it before they move and are likely to take any offer!

All garage Sales are not the same!

There are garage sales and then there are garage sales!

As mentioned in the previous step, people that are moving always have great bargains.

The best locations to go to garage sales are the wealthier suburbs! You are guaranteed to get better quality products, better brand names, and with some tough negotiation better buys – i.e. more profit for you.

I have found that wealthier households have usually bought a lot of goods, have had the latest of everything and are now trying to get rid of it. These families always have the latest of everything and therefore when they have a garage sale they are selling quality items and lots of them.

Why Use eBay? - By Aaron Bennett

I started using eBay a few years ago and have had many different accounts with them, I have been a power-seller and a full time buyer with eBay. This is not only the worlds #1 marketplace to find good deals, but you can make a nice second (or if you are good) a full time income selling things from home. eBay is like a massive flea market, but with a small twist, you come and look for what you are interested in buying and only bid or buy things that are suited to your needs, much like a flea market.

So, as my title here states, why eBay and not some other auction site? Well, here is the plain truth, eBay holds the eyes of millions of users for online auctioning, much like google does for the search engine, yahoo for mail accounts and myspace for finding friends... When you do a search for anything online, you go straight to google, it has set the standard for internet searching and gives you the best results. Yahoo is still #1 free mail provider and millions of people use their service including myself, I have 3 mail accounts on yahoo. Myspace has risin in the last few years as the place to go to make friends online... Folks, these services aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so you might as well be a part of them.

I have tried selling on yahoo and other auction sites, but they cannot compete with ebay, yes the fees are starting to get out of control (and personally I think the owner needs to stop before he really screws things up), but all in all, this is the site anyone who is anyone comes to to buy or sell things online, this is THE site to make your online business start. Anyone can sell on ebay and if you have the knowledge, you can make a good living on it if you play your cards right.

Selling on eBay can be a total pain in the arse if you don't know what to do or are just starting out. If you are worried about people not bidding because you have a low score, get some feedback first buy buying things, get your feedback up to about 20 or so then start selling. It's not hard to make money online using eBay, but beware of the selling fees, they can kill your business, that is why you see outrageous shipping charges, these sellers want to cover their fees. I cannot complain about someone charging $3 to ship a CD because I have been there and know EXACTLY why they charge that amount.

eBay will charge you a minimum of $0.20 to list an item (as of now), then add a final value fee (about 3%).. Oh, ON TOP OF THAT... another 3% from any paypal transactions, which by the way, is also owned by ebay.. so they are taking a minimum of 6% of your sales plus a fee just to list it whether it sells or not. So, basically I am saying if you are wanting to sell on eBay, make sure you are ready to take the losses with the profits, running a business on eBay is not as easy as most people think. It is very frustrating and time consuming.

A lot of people think eBay sellers are lazy and I have to disagree whole-heartedly because I have done it and it it not as easy as it seems. You have to collect your money and make labels, whether it be a profit or loss, then package up the product and head to the post office with an arm-load of merchandise and hope they get it to the buyer (yes, I've had people steal my products from the mail and it was probably a crooked mail-man, then here comes a big refund to 15 or 20 people...). So yes eBay has it's ups and downs, but you can make some extra income selling items you pick up at a yard sale for twenty five cents and resell it for $5...

All in all, I do not hate eBay, but I wish the fees were not so high, being charged 25-35 cents an item does get expensive if the items do not sell, then relisting them cost you another fee (unless it sells the second time, which is just another way to bribe you into relisting it), I do not like the new owner of eBay, that is a fact, he is scamming sellers left and right, but all in all it is a good site to make money from if you know how...

Getting The Most Of Ebay And How To Get Paid Rebates - Cashback For Your Purchases - By Natalie Chan

Like a lot of people I really love ebaying! It saves time going to the city to get your favourite brand, stops you wasting gasoline to get to the destination and most of all things on here are often cheaper than outside.

EBay has also affiliated itself with a few rebate sites so you can actually save on your shopping. Essentially they give you back a percentage of what you spend via monthly paypal payments or checks. This is particularly useful for those who shop online frequently...

Bigcrumbs in particular gives you the highest overall cash back for each purchase at popular retailers, such as EBAY, Target, Old Navy, and Gap. Naturally there are 100's more including travel sites, books, videos, jewellery, flowers and gifts, food and drink, office and business, wireless and internet stores etc. Like the ones forementioned it is free to join and does not require a credit card. In order to receive cashback it is necessary to use their links rather than go to the actual store, otherwise they are unable to verify your purchase. The rebate website has also even provided bookmarks for their shopping links so consumers may attach them directly to their desktops for easy access. [ http://useurl.us/qx ]

With regards to ebay purchasing you have to be careful though when too many people start bidding early on an item as they can end up higher in price than buying it brand new at your local shop. Its often good to check the prices online using google search or any other search engine.

Getting too hung up on winning something can also being very addictive...almost like gambling. Sometimes its better to let it go if the prices get a bit high because chances are someone else will list something similar later on, at a less expensive price.

Checking out alternative spellings of what you are looking for, and looking most closely at gallery descriptions without the pics can also get you great bargains. People often list things incorrectly so keep a lookout.

Don't be afraid to put up an offer when the listing allows you to do so. As a general rule, don't make an offer that is too low. Put yourself in the sellers shoes and think how much you would be willing to sell the item for without making a terrible loss (well most of these auctions and buy it nows are already heavily discounted). Most really low offers just get discarded buy the seller. Likewise of course you wouldn't make an offer that's too high.

If you want to buy and resell things, make sure it's a good brand as often you are unlikely to be able to sell well if it is an unknown one. But most importantly don't buy it too expensive because it is unlikely you will be able to sell it higher than what you paid for yourself.

Just so you don't waste your money, never be afraid to ask questions, especially when it comes to measurements. So many people end up buying things that don't fit just because a sz small in one brand is so much different than sz small in another.

Apart from that make use of your paypal code coupons .....you can search for more if you search for "paypal code coupons" forums in various search engines. Ebay forums sometimes give a few away but this is extremely rare. Thus, you're better off just shopping smart and comparing prices online.

Why all eBay eBook Sellers Need an eBay Store - By John Thornhill

Is owning an eBay store is worth the expense? I personally think any serious eBay seller must have an eBay store and in this article I will try to explain the benefits of owning an eBay store.

1. Owning an eBay store gives you your own unique URL to promote.

Having your own link to promote means you can promote your eBay store from your auctions, about me page, email signatures, forum signatures, blogs, articles, eBooks, newsletters etc etc.

2. You look more professional.

If you look like a professional seller you will sell more. Obviously a lot of factors count to looking professional such as excellent feedback but having an eBay store adds to the professional look. Also, a fully stocked eBay store gives you a professional look and with eBooks this is easily achieved at low cost.

3. You can sell multiple store items for a few cents per month.

That's right, you can list an eBook with a 1000 items available and this can cost only a few cents per month. In fact you could list 1000 different items in your eBay store as store inventory items for around $30 per month. The minimum price to do this with 1000 auctions would be almost 10 times the expense.

4. You get to send out store newsletters.

Yes, you can build your own eBay subscriber database. Every time someone leaves feedback for you on eBay they get asked if they would like you to be added to their favourite sellers list. If they accept they can also subscribe to your store newsletter. This means you can send out mailings to your past customers. Plus you can also set up eBay to send out regular mailings on your behalf every 2 weeks.

There is also the option to add a link to your store newsletter and store favourites in all your auctions. This is a crucial promotion tool eBay provides, just look at the top right corner of any of my listings to see these links in action. This means you can add people to your eBay mailing list even if they don't initially buy from you.

5. You can 'feature' your most profitable items.

By putting your most popular items in the featured section of your eBay store you are gaining maximum exposure for the items that make you the most money.

6. You can personalise your eBay store to differ yourself from other eBay users.

With a little HTML experience you can add categories, logo's, graphics, pictures and a lot more to give your eBay store a more personalised, professional look. Even if you are not familiar with HTML you can still create an attractive looking eBay store.

7. You can track sales and traffic.

By using the tracking services eBay provides you can track a whole host of features such as your most viewed items, store traffic, search terms used in your store, where your visitors came from and a lot lot more.

8. You can link to your store from all your auctions.

If you use all the tools eBay provides you can have up to 10 links to your eBay store from every auction you run. Without an eBay store you can have 3 or 4 links at the most linking to your other items.

9. Your store and store items will appear in the major search engines.

Google 'planetsms' and you will see number one is my website and number 2 is my eBay store. You can add keywords to your eBay store and there is also more chance of your listings showing on google. In fact if you search Google for the term 'planetsms eBook collection' or even just 'eBook collection' you will see both search terms are on the 1st page of Google :-)

10. You can ask people to 'Visit me eBay store'.

Sounds silly doesn't it? It's a simple fact that more visitors = more sales and no one can deny that. You can ask people to visit your store in your auctions, about me page, email signatures, forum signatures, blogs, articles, eBooks, newsletters :-) etc etc etc.

There you go, 10 reasons why you should have an eBay store. I have probably missed out a lot more and maybe even some more important reasons why you should have an eBay store but I'm sure you get the picture.

Make Money On Ebay - Auction Tips To Boost Your Sales - By Deon Plessis

To make money on Ebay can be both the easiest and the hardest thing to do. Some people make a fortune while others struggle to make a single profitable sale. Like any other business there are some finer tricks and trades that can make all the difference between success or failure on Ebay. Here are five key Ebay auction tips to boost your sales and help you make more money.

1. Can You Offer A Bargain?

People primarily shop on Ebay because everything is perceived as being cheap. Although this is not always the case, people are still looking for bargains. It does not necessarily mean the lowest price either. What other incentives can you offer? A free belt with a pair of jeans or an extra ink cartridge with a printer usually does the trick.

Remember that all trading is only about perceived value. I have seen second hand items sell for more than the new ones on Ebay, simply because people have a certain expectation on Ebay and that is that items are cheap – or at least cheaper. This doesn’t mean you should inflate your prices. It does however mean that you know exactly what’s available on the market and how much it is selling for. Now, how can you beat this and convince people that they should buy from you – even if your item is more expensive? Free shipping? 10% discount on their next purchase?

2. The Importance Of Properly Describing Your Item.

One of the most important aspects of any item on auction is how you describe the item. Any good description should include all the features of the product, the top three benefits of the product and all the technical specifications. Any defects or imperfections must be clearly stated and illustrated.

The hard job is to get people to ‘click’ and look at your item. The click is the hard part as a click usually means that you satisfy your potential customer’s item and price criteria. A professional, honest and thorough item description will usually clinch the deal and warrant a bid.

3. A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words.

Images are incredibly important and the better your images the greater your chances of making a profitable sale. Listing an item without images is suicide and it is highly unlikely that you will even receive any bids. Most people only look at pictures and scan through the text for some of the most important things they are looking for – this is why a thorough description is so important.

It is not just images but also the quality and quantity. Just blindly copying images off manufacturer’s websites is not always a great move. The authenticity of an ‘amateur photograph’ adds a sense of reality and believability that many bidders are looking for. The golden rule is to illustrate what you are selling and always just ask yourself whether a specific images will illustrate what you are selling or not?

4. The Seller's Requirements

This is where most sellers fail to clinch the deal as they take a too firm or even hostile stance – especially seller’s whose has bad experiences. Remember that you are there to serve your customer and your shipping and handling terms are there to protect both of you.

Keep this as simple as possible. People don’t like to have hassles and will easily move on to the next seller if your shipping and terms are too descriptive and demanding. Its well worth testing different pricing strategies for your shipping as cheaper shipping can often clinch a sale.

5. The Customer Is King

Although this is a very old business concept, it is probably one of the most important one’s on Ebay. Ebay, in all their wisdom, gave buyers the power to rate sellers and leave feedback. This rating system has become a very important and integral part of a successful Ebay business.

Stepping on the toes of the wrong customer can potentially be a bad move. Regardless of how rude or obnoxious a customer or even a potential customer might be – always treat them professionally, tactfully and respectfully. Try and respond to all the queries quickly and promptly and always give your customers the benefit of the doubt.
