Wholesale Dropshipper: Work at Home Solution - By John Hodgeman

If you don't know about the behemoth growing out there in cyberspace calling itself Ebay, then welcome to the planet Earth. Not only is Ebay one of the biggest Internet success stories in history, it is still growing. Not only does it allow people to come to its website and bid upon items they want, it also allows people to open their own Ebay business and use online auctions to make money. Wholesale drop shipping is a great way to sell on Ebay virtually risk free.

What is Wholesale Drop Shipping?

For a person using their Ebay store to sell items to bidders on the Internet, there is a fair amount of work that takes place behind the scenes. An Ebay business owner must secure inventory, find a place to store it until being sold, package it, and then ship the products to customers.

Drop shippers offer Ebay store owners a chance to simplify the entire process and make larger profits in the process. A wholesale drop shipping company provides and stores the inventory. Then, when someone buys an item from an Ebay business owner, that owner simply processes the order and sends it and payment onto the drop shippers who then package and ship the product to the customer.

The customer never knows that a third party exists because drop shippers will package the product using the Ebay business owner's labeling. By purchasing the products at wholesale prices, the Ebay store owner profits the difference between that price and the winning bid amount while the drop shippers take care of everything else.

Virtually Risk Free

An Ebay business owner who does not use a wholesale drop shipping company must bear the expense of buying the inventory and waiting until a sale is made before recuperating their investment. By using drop shippers, nothing is paid out by the Ebay store owner until they receive payment for the item from the customer. It is an ideal arrangement for people with little start up capital.

While not a problem in the beginning, there may come a point where an Ebay business owner must pay to store their inventory. This is another expense that you never have to worry about when using drop shippers.

Wholesale drop shipping generally requires no charge on the part of the Ebay business owner for selling the drop shipper's products. When there is a fee, it is generally so small that it is literally dwarfed by the benefits and profits received using a drop shipper.

Basically, the only thing that an Ebay business owner must invest when using wholesale drop shipping to sell on Ebay is time. And the majority of the time that is required on the part of the owner is spent researching and trying to find the best drop shipper to supply them with the products they wish to sell.

If you want to get into the world of Ebay auctions but are on a shoestring budget, wholesale drop shipping is definitely the way to go. They require little or no money of Ebay business owners to sell their products. In the process, they take care of the entire logistics involved in getting the item to your customer. So if you are serious about making money selling on Ebay but don't want to take any big risks, look into the world of drop shipping today.

John Hodgeman has researched and uncovered numerous scams in the corrupt online dropship industry. He has written special articles to help people avoid dropshipper scams.

3 Steps to Begin Making Money on eBay Fast - When You Don't Know Where to Start - By Pauline Kiselbach

Do not sit in front of your computer any more, wasting time and daydreaming. Begin today to take the necessary steps needed to make money on eBay™.
I have discovered how awesome eBay™ really is!
It was not too long ago that I had no clue what eBay™ was about, and now look at me, an eBay™ enlightened Mom!
Would you like to get there too? It is not difficult and it is really a lot of fun.
eBay™ is the latest, and greatest money-making endeavor I have found. And believe me, I have searched high and low in all kinds of markets and businesses to find something that could work for me.

Nothing I found seemed to tickle my fancy until eBay™. There were always too many loopholes to stop me from pursuing any of the ideas I came across. Such problems I found were, for example: the costs which seemed to escalate, the amount of time that was required was more than I could give, the steps were way too complicated and the end result always seemed way too small.
No, not me boy, I wanted to invest only a small amount of money, I wanted to spend about 15 hours on this per week, and I needed it to be pretty simple, something that if I stopped at any moment, (you know the kids always distract me at the wrong times) I needed to be able to pick up where I left off and not end up completely confused. Does this sound like the same issues you have had?

Let eBay™ be your solution to the fastest and most simple way of making money! Let me share the ropes with you so you can begin right away.

Step 1 - Log on to eBay™ and start exploring!

Sounds too easy right? Well it is, as I promised. Just look up searches for things you are interested in and see for yourself how items are listed.

Make note as to how some auctions draw your eye to them, and others don't. Look at the titles of the items, which ones would you be more drawn to and why. Under the "search" box, use different words to describe what it is you want to find and see what comes up.

Notice how many different categories there are and observe the specialty sites. Interesting now isn't it!

If you are feeling a bit more comfortable the next thing you should do is buy something from eBay™.

Step 2 - Buy something from eBay™.

The reason you need to buy something is because to be a good seller you must understand what it is like to be a buyer. You do not have to spend a lot of money here, in fact you should not spend a lot, just get your feet a bit wet and try it out.

To find out the steps in buying from eBay™ check out my other articles. You will see that it is not difficult to set up a buyer's account on eBay™, AND you get to choose an eBay™ user ID, a code word if you like that eBay™ users will know you by. Sounds exciting now doesn't it! Who knew that part of the process to making money on eBay™ was shopping! Well I would say that is just too much fun.

Okay, now you have browsed around eBay™, you have familiarized yourself with auctions, and you have purchased something! That is great and you are now ready to make some money.
Step 3 - Sell something from your attic.

Don't panic if you do not have an attic. Do you have a cupboard, a closet, a drawer, a child! No, just kidding, there is no need to sell your firstborn, at least not yet! But you do need to find something to sell, and it would be best if it was not your mother's $5,000.00 wedding ring please!
You do not want to start with an expensive item, remember this is a first sale for you so make it easy for yourself. Also, keep in mind shipping costs and packaging needs, so size and weight is a factor here.

Once you have found your first item, or items, take some really good pictures of them and upload the photos on your computer. You are now ready to set up a seller's account on eBay™. My other articles can guide you through this process.

If you have followed these steps, you can sit back now and watch the price of your item go up and up, until at last someone buys it!

You have taken the plunge. In essence you have begun your exciting career on eBay™. May this be the beginning of a very profitable journey for you.

Selling Yourself on eBay - Standing Out from the Crowd - By Charles Hammer

You can find almost anything you want on eBay. Without a doubt the vast variety of items on sale on eBay is a boon for buyers and sellers alike. However, the eBay's huge and ever growing product base presents problems for both those looking to buy and those trying to sell: How can a buyer find just the right merchandise? More importantly for you the seller, how do you set yourself apart from all the other eBay merchants who may be selling pretty much the same thing you are? Two of the best and, after a few tips, the easiest ways to help your merchandise stand out from the crowd are an informative description and a few well taken pictures.

eBay has upgrades such as gallery posting, purchasing keywords and highlighting which can be useful in many ways. Some of the tools will help your text achieve a higher board placement and others will make the copy more eye catching. All of these options may be of little value if the description you have written doesn't transform your potential customer into a buying customer. The best way to write an ad is to approach it from the buyer's point of view. What does he/she want to know about the item up for auction? Write down the key selling points for your item and list them in order of importance; then write your description based on this chronological order. Use specific, descriptive language that doesn't promise more than the merchandise can delivery. It's not necessary to use gushy, exciting words like great or fantastic that don't add real meaning to the copy. Remember, too, that method of payment and shipping are extremely important to many buyers. Maintain an open, professional tone when describing your terms. Obviously, some rules are always necessary and should be clearly stated. However, placing too many restrictions on your customers and phrasing them in an unfriendly way can lose business.

When it comes to pictures again think of your ad from your customer's point of view. Do you want to buy something you haven't seen? Many people perusing eBay don't even open ads that don't have pictures. You will need access to a digital camera. It doesn't have to be expensive, just capable of taking good pictures. Your pictures don't need to be art. They need to be like your written ad; that is, informative. Snap the picture in front of a harmonizing background. If the size of the item is important, you may want to include a standard size item in the photograph to give the buyer something to which he/she can relate. Make sure the color in the photograph truly represents the color of the merchandise. Get close enough to see the detail on the item. Be sure to include pictures of any identifying or verifying marks. Again, make sure your photographs are an honest depiction of how the product will look when it is received.

Once you have written a compelling ad for your item and taken a few clear pictures it's time to post your ad. Good copy and a good picture don't guarantee sales success. They do, however, greatly increase the odds that your product will find its new home.

Auction Services - By David S. Baker

An auction service puts sellers and buyers in touch with each other, whoever they are, wherever they are, whatever they’re selling so everyone can get the best possible price.

If you have something to sell, maybe there’s someone who wants to buy that item but maybe she lives in another country and speaks another language. Without the services of an online auction house, these two parties would probably NEVER have come into contact with each other. The possibility of finding each other was just too small. Now, nothing could be easier. The people of the world are coming together and selling stuff and it’s a revolution that owes everything to online auction houses.

Stuff that you have hidden away in boxes in the basement may be worthless to you but is just exactly what someone else is searching for. Who knows what valuable treasures you have hidden away that have no value for you but someone else is desperate to get hold of.

Browse the list of things you can bid for online. Try and think of a category of products that isn’t available. Impossible! You can buy and sell just about anything through an online auction house. And, if you do come up with a new category – you can try and sell it yourself!!

The services provided by an auction house cut out an awful lot of wasted effort on a global scale. In a couple of clicks, you can list a product in the category, or see millions of items listed; something that would never have been possible without the services of an auction house.

Of course you have to pay something for this service but most buyers and sellers are happy to pay the small fee involved for the chance to reach millions of potential buyers or and uncountable number of items for sale.

Thousands and thousands of products are bought and sold every day at online auctions. A tiny, almost insignificant number of these transactions are fraudulent. A lot of people imagine that the auction house should be responsible for this but there are several reasons why this is not the case.

Auction services don’t guarantee that the seller has the product that he claims or in the condition he claims. That is up to the buyer to verify, as the Romans used to say, caveat emptor, and buyer beware. The auction house is providing the space where buyers and sellers come together for a fee. It would not be possible for an auction house to check each and every lot for sale. However, reported violations will be taken seriously and where appropriate, the guilty party will no longer be allowed to trade on the site.

Auction houses take violations seriously and want to hear about any concerns you may have with a trade. However, as millions of satisfied customers can testify, online auction houses do provide a secure environment for buying and selling online.

How to Make the Most from E-Bay Auctions - By David S. Baker

Whatever your merchandise, selling by using an eBay auction is profitable, simple and fun. Selling through eBay can be a one-time sale or a second income. People enjoy searching through online auctions to find rare collector’s items or unusual furniture and clothing. The selection at an eBay auction is limitless. Try eBay to sell your unneeded items instead of holding a yard sale. You may discover that the income opportunities are top-notch.

Even if you just want to unload a few dust-collecting items from your garage or attic, there are some tips which will help you have an eBay auction that’s profitable. You must do more than post a price and a picture of your item in order to bring bidders to your auction item.

Describe your merchandise accurately. It’s better to sell items, which are in excellent condition, but otherwise, be honest about what you have to sell. Deceit will always show up in the negative ratings and spoil your chances of future sales. You also should know as much as possible about what you are selling so you can give a complete and detailed description and promptly answer any questions which a bidder may ask.

Your sales and shipping and refund policies should be completely and accurately stated up front. Sales will go smoothly and give you repeat customers. Attracting repeat customers is vital if you want to maintain a good eBay auction success rate. Good customer service helps customers feel good about doing business with you.

Once your eBay auction merchandise has sold, you must do even more to keep the level of professional and courteous rapport with your customers. Good reviews and repeat customers mean a successful eBay career. Inform your customers of each step in the successful completion of the sale. First, thank them for the purchase and include any payment information. Next, tell them when you’ve shipped their purchase, the shipping carrier and any tracking information, which is available. It may be prudent to use delivery confirmation or package tracking when you ship the purchase to the customer. An expected receipt date helps your customers to know when they may expect their purchase to arrive.

Always conduct your e-Bay auctions and business transactions as a true professional. When you wrap and ship merchandise, you will want to prepare the package carefully to avoid shipping damage. This lets the buyer know that you recognize the importance of a safe and prompt arrival to them. Include a receipt so the customer will be able to keep vital information for his tax records. You can even include a sincere thank-you note.

Your reputation as a seller on an eBay auction is built by customer feedback and ratings. Take your ratings seriously, buyers do. If you remember to do something a little extra for your customer, they will appreciate it and tell others of their successful experience with you. Even difficult customers deserve courtesy and a friendly yet professional attitude.

Online Car Auctions - By Robert Darby

Online car auction websites are a great way of finding a bargain car while sitting comfortably in front your computer. It is amazing how many car deals are closed every day, again through online car auction venues. So if you are after your new car, try it. Moreover online car auction sites are a great way to sell your car.

The first question on your mind is may be how to find a good online car auction website. Well, just go to your favorite search engine and type “online car auction”. That should get you thousands of results. Be careful though which online car auction you will be browsing or buying/selling your car at. Try to narrow your selection to a few sites that look professional, respectable and have a good testimonials record.

The next step will depend on your idea – do you want to sell your car or to look for a car.

If you are a car seller than check what the site has to offer – how many photos of the car you can submit, what information is allowed to be submitted, what are the fees involved. There are sites that will offer you free advertising but will ask for a percentage of the selling price. Other online car auction sites will have certain advertising fees that might depend on the car’s value or on the advertising period.

Another thing to consider is if you would like an online car auction company that will actually buy your car and will market it later. This might bring you less profit than selling your car on your own but it will save you a lot of hassle. In fact once you sell them the car it is no longer your worry who or when will buy it.

If you are a car buyer – the rules are pretty much the same. Try to pick up a site that looks respectable enough. Than set a budget and find, the best car within your money frame. Once you have found a few cars, negotiate with the buyer. The fact that this is an online car auction venue does not mean that you have to agree on the first price asked.

With money matters handled it is best to see and test-drive the car before signing up the papers. If this is not possible, than ask for all information that you need to make sure you are really buying a good quality car. It is a good idea to perform a car check as well. Just for additional piece of mind – to make sure that there are no unpaid bills, insurance problems or the car being reported as stolen. The good news is that all these checks can be done online as well.

Top Ebay Tips and Tactics - By Aidan James

The number of full time ebay merchants is still growing. The range of products for sale is mind-blowing, just about everything can and has been sold on ebay. Pretty much everything is of value to someone and the best sellers are those who know how to spot a bargain because they know that others are willing to pay more. Where they sometimes need a little help is in the sales department itself. From my own and friends experience here are my top ebay tips and tactics:

It is a lot easier to manage a small number of high value items than it is to manage lots of little ones so try to concentrate on higher value items, particularly specialty or collectible type items, which can generate more competition between buyers.

Listing fees can mount up with additional photos, gallery listings and the like. It is hard to profit from lower margin items when fees make up a substantial portion of the selling price. It is better to sell higher value items for this reason also.

Begin your auctions with a low starting price, this tends to attract early buyer interest and ultimately the best final bids. For high value items make use of the reserve feature to protect against too low a final price.

Avoid selling items easily found in everyday shops and malls. Buyers will generally favour the mall where they can see and touch the item before parting with their cash, so again, try to offer uncommon or special interest items wherever possible.

Good descriptions with photos are vital. Use several photos if necessary to ensure attractive or unusual details are highlighted. Make sure that colors, exact measurements, unusual features, general condition of the item etc are all well covered in your description. Use a good photo for a gallery listing to attract more potential buyers.

You simply must answer queries and send out your goods promptly. Also, make sure you give the buyer feedback as soon as he has paid. This not only makes the buyer feel more secure but also leads to great feedback for you as the seller, so that other potential buyers get the feel good factor about you too.

If you are serious about ebay then open an ebay store. This not only gives you a more professional image but also allows you to cross promote your other items easily. Stores also get more traffic which equals more buyer competition for your goods.

Try to offer a range of payment options. Credit cards, paypal, money orders and bank transfers etc. The buy it now option is great for hooking impulsive buyers. The more payment options the greater likelihood of a successful sale.

Offer your goods to the international market where it is suitable to do so. The greater the competition the greater the selling price. This won't always be practical e.g. where international shipping costs may be prohibitive on bulky items or where there is seasonal market for the item concerned.

Try to offer a written guarantee or refund policy. Buyers are more likely to buy from you when you have a visible guarantee or return policy for your goods.

Finally, use a little hype factor where it may be appropriate, phrases like 'this season's must have' and 'limited stock' can increase sales especially in combination with the buy it now option, which tends to grab those impulse buyers.

If you've not already tried ebay you're missing out on a fun and profitable hobby or even home business. Register today if you have not done so already or find out more below.

Do You Need an Online Store? - By Brady Freeman

The Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that the estimate of U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the second quarter of 2006, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, was $26.3 billion, an increase of 4.6 percent (±1.7%) from the first quarter of 2006. Total retail sales for the second quarter of 2006 were estimated at $984.9 billion, an increase of 0.9 percent (±0.3%) from the first quarter of 2006. The second quarter 2006 e commerce estimate increased 23.0 percent (±5.4%) from the second quarter of 2005 while total retail sales increased 6.6 percent (±0.5%) in the same period. E-commerce sales -Quote taken from http://www.census.gov/mrts/www/data/html/06Q2.html

The above listed information should be a real eye opener to anyone questioning the possibility of opening an online store. In short we see a 23% increase in e-commerce sales for the 2nd Quarter (April-June) 2006 over the same period in 2005. $26.3 Billion just in that time frame alone.

There is good reason for this activity. The online e-commerce business is open 24 hours a day and provides an opportunity for people to avoid the hassle of driving around searching for the best deals. We also have seen a sharp increase in fuel prices that lends a helping hand to doing business online.

You are probably asking yourself now "How can I get a piece of this action?" There are several ways to get involved with e-commerce without spending a bunch of money. One of the most popular methods is opening a store on ebay.com or one of the several other sites offering an online store to its customers.

The down side of this is that the bulk of your time will be spent finding sources of products that sell well on the internet. You can spend hours searching for the right place to buy products to sell. The most important thing to remember is there is a market for just about any product as long as you place the product in the right places. The most important thing in choosing a product is finding some that have a high profit margin or find a niche (product specialized for a particular market with low competition).

There are also several companies that are set up exclusively to liquidate products for manufacturers. They typically will sell items in bulk at a deep discount. If you have room to store inventory this may be the route for you.

Now, you also have the option to use companies that will dropship products for you. This option will allow you to sell products without the hassle of storing and shipping the items. Most of these companies have a built in charge for the service of dropshipping.

There are also Government auction sites. These sites primarily sell products ranging anywhere from houses and vehicles to jewelry that have been seized by the police. You can also buy liquidation products from our very own military. Most of these sources are not very well known but can be a great source for niche products to sell in online auctions.

Working at home can be fun but it does require work. I think that you can see the opportunity is there for the taking. It could be used as a source of secondary income but if you are persistent and study you could make it a primary source.

Brady Freeman -- I have been working at home with a succesful business for 2 years. If I can do it anyone can. I also provide an updated list of wholesalers and Government auction sites that I use at

How To Find The Greatest Bargains In The World - By Joaquin Reveron

How many times have you seen those eBay announcements on TV? I bet you have seen plenty if not many of those TV funny 30-second advertisements a few times. Well, there is a reason those promotions are being aired in the greatest TV channels of America over and over again. It is evident- eBay is the biggest auction site in the entire world. Millions of people register on eBay every single month just to be part of the greatest auction phenomena in the entire world- all on the Internet. Today, you just do not have to go to a flea market in hopes of getting the desire item you truly wish. It can be found on eBay without hassles and without you having to move your feet.

In fact, today I discovered a Playstation 2 being sold, however, completely misspelled by a seller who has poor grammar. Boy I felt pity on this guy, if I was starting business like few years ago- I would not think twice on bidding on his auction. Instead there was other guy who needed the Playstation 2 console, the guy bid and won. I was happy for the bidder, but what I cannot conclude is on what the auction seller ended up thinking and saying to himself after the auction ended. The Playstation 2 consoles, packed with 2 games and 3 controllers ended in $73.09. That is the price for an Xbox 360 game here at Puerto Rico. The only thing that went into my mind was just a plain: Wow!

Finding console at such a low price tag was shocking to me as a video games fan and as a wholesale business entrepreneur. It sure was interesting to see the differences in prices when comparing with other online sellers on eBay that were selling less items in a package of the same Playstation 2, and most of the other sellers in the auction received more bids than the current guy who sold the Playstation 2 with all the other games and accessories for pennies on the dollar. That is the power of eBay.

You can find items on virtually any kind of merchandise you desire for your home or better yet for your new start-up retail business. Today, there are actually thousands of retailers buying wholesale items on eBay for their offline stores locally. It is obvious. Most distributors that are making the entry into the wholesale market need to brand themselves get customers and receive traffic and ultimately profits to survive as a brand new business, so where do they go? Many distributors and plenty of wholesalers are selling right now on eBay, mostly high ticket items that range in the thousands- but that is just the beginning.

If you truly wish to have your own Internet store and sell tangible items as a small business like many of all those power sellers on eBay have started their ventures- I suggest you find a trusted and reliable source of distributors, liquidation centers and wholesalers that can make your initial start-up investments, profitable long-term purchases. Like I have said in other lessons, anyone with an average competitive and healthy mind can make a living out of selling on eBay, they just need the right things to sell in order to make a profit.

Getting an Xbox 360 Wholesale List is one of the business components Joaquin can assist. His focus today is on helping people create wealth through the Wholesale Video Games business.

Basic Guide To Dropshipping on eBay - By Marty Fiegl

Dropshipping is when you sell an item and then order the item from the company and have it shipped to the customer.

The merchant/company will put your address as the return address making it appear as though you shipped the product.

There are some very big companies that use dropshippers as their entire business model.

While you can make money on eBay using dropshippers here's a few things to consider before you just into using dropshippers

1. Only use reputable drop shippers. While this may sound obvious figuring out if they are reputable will either come from a reference or your own experience with the company.

Most places carry the same items for a long time, if it's not a closeout or liquidation/limited supply item then they usually get the item in on a regular schedule, this is usually the case for popular items like you will be selling so you shouldn't have to worry, if you're unsure simply contact your drop shipper directly.

It's a good idea to have a good relationship with the company you're working with and while you're at it, ask for a discount on items you sell a lot of (Say something like, I love selling these items, but I'm going to be testing some new forms of advertising and my budget only allows me to spend $XX.XX on this item to be profitable).

2. If selling online or offline where you actually charge the credit card or cash the check, do NOT charge them or cash the check until you've made sure the item is in stock. Once you've charged their card you MUST deliver the item in 30 days (by law).

3. If you're having trouble finding a product to sell or you found something but you don't think the profit margin is high enough, brainstorm some other things you could sell that are related.

Let's say you found Golf balls cheap but the profit wasn't much ($1 or $2). You could also sell Golf Clubs, Golf Shoes, Golf "Gloves", gold Teas, personalized gold Shirt, Equipment or even a book or ebook about How to Take 5 strokes off your game, or put better (the list could go on and on).

So now, your little $1 or $2 profit could turn into $10 or $20 every time you make a sale. This is called Backend Selling.

4. Have a product you want to sell but can't find it with a dropshipper? Let's say you wanted to sell the "Ov Glove" and you couldn't find it or couldn't find it cheap enough to make a profit.

Go to any search engine and type in "Ov Glove distributor" or "Ov Glove Liquidator" You contact the manufacturer and they will either sell directly to you, tell you who does distribute the product, or simply say they won't work with you. More times then not they WILL work with you once you explain what you're doing or give you a great source to get the product cheap.

Or, you could do this. Go to a store like Wal-Mart that doesn't carry the item you want. Ask someone for help finding it, when they can't find it ask if they can check to see if they can get the product or have it.

They should get out a catalog for the department and you can simply see where they buy their products from! This may tell you where to get the exact product you're looking for from OR give you a great wholesale reference!

Is Ebay a Giant Garage Sale or ? - By Jim Cockrum

Are you thinking correctly about eBay?

Do you trust your intuition? Let's do a small test. Take a piece of paper (imagine it to be a large piece of newspaper) and fold it in half 50 times about how tall would the folded paper be?

I'll give you the answer in a moment, but unless you've seen this example before you will probably be very surprised by the answer. It's a test of your intuition - and proof that you can be VERY wrong when trying to imagine how BIG something is based on a few simple facts.

Now, let's talk about eBay.

Ebay is MASSIVE. It's almost certainly bigger than you are imaging it to be.

As evidence consider the huge event scheduled for June 2006 in Las Vegas called "eBay Live". Tens of thousands descended on Las Vegas in the summer of 2006 and still only a small percentage of those who make a living on eBay will be represented.

People from around the world will be there learning about the opportunities that eBay now offers to anyone willing to take the leap into online entrepreneurship.

Millions of transactions and tens of thousands of new sellers and buyers sign up for an eBay account EVERY DAY.

The fact is you aren't capable of imaging how huge this opportunity is. If you totaled up all of the people making a living using or selling on eBay it would be the largest employer in the U.S.

The risks and costs of getting started are virtually nonexistent. This is a first in human history. It's never happened before.

A little creativity can lead to a massive success story. I make a living from home thanks to eBay and I personally know many others who do as well.

Don't let your misconceptions about eBay take away your chance to be part of what I truly believe is the greatest entrepreneurial opportunity of our time! Are you using any of these excuses?

-eBay is just a giant yard sale

-I don't have what it takes

-I don't know what to sell

-the market is saturated

-I tried once but my item didn't sell

Those excuses are all based on BAD INTUITION. The fact is you CAN do it because there are thousands of people LESS CAPABLE THAN YOU who are already doing it!

Do you follow your intuition even when it's wrong?

The imaginary paper we folded 50 times at the start of this article would reach somewhere between 1/4 of the way to the SUN and possibly all the way to the sun depending on the thickness of the paper. I first heard this astounding factoid in the book "The Tipping Point" by Malcom Gladwell.

Still trust your intuition? You owe it to yourself to figure out how to get into the eBay game.

Avoiding Identity Theft On eBay: The "eBay" Email You Must Not Answer - By Chris Bryant

eBay does their best to make communication with other buyers and sellers as painless as possible. Sadly, there are plenty of scam artists that are just waiting to use these features to their advantage. One such feature is the ability of an eBay customer or seller to ask you a question through eBay's "My Messages" service. If they've got a question about one of your auction listings, they can click on "Send seller a message" and send the question straight to your email inbox.

Once you open this mail, all you have to do is click on "Respond Now" to answer their question. After doing so, you'll be asked to enter your eBay username and password combination.

That's where the problem comes in for many eBay buyers and sellers. Legitimate potential customers use this feature, but plenty of scam artists send fake "eBay emails" that look exactly like the ones eBay sends - and when you enter your username and password, you're not even on eBay. You're entering your eBay ID and password on a site that looks like eBay, but isn't, and the scammer can see your username and password the second you enter it.

Common questions in these fake eBay emails include:

"What is the postage to West Virginia?" (Nothing against West Virginia, it's just that one persistent scammer picked that state. No one asks what the postage to their state is.)

"Why haven't you paid me yet?" This question makes you think you forgot to pay someone for an item. Sounds legitimate, but it isn't.

"WHERE IS MY ITEM?????" This sounds like an irate customer, but it could also be a scammer.

You might be asking "How do I tell the real questions from the fakes?" Easy. What I recommend is that you do not use the "Respond Now" button. Just go out to eBay, sign in, and click on "My Messages". If you see their question listed there, it's legitimate. If not - you know someone just tried to steal your username and address. You can report this to eBay, but most likely the eBay ID listed in the fake email is a fake eBay name.

Making money online, especially on eBay, means you have to be on guard against potential scam artists. If you go directly to eBay to log in rather than going through an email to do so, you've taken a giant step toward guarding the integrity of your eBay identity.

How to Use eBay - Overview and Summary - By Bruce Walls

It started in 1995 in San Jose, California. Computer programmer Pierre Omidyar and his wife decided to trade collectible goods using the Internet. Pierre founded a web site, "Auctionweb," where traders could meet to sell their goods to other collectors, all within an environment of professional trust. Auctionweb was later renamed eBay (with a lower-case “e”).

Within 10 years, eBay.com has grown into the largest and most successful online business model in history. Today, tens of millions of people converge daily at eBay.com and eBaymotors.com to buy and sell millions of dollars in new and used merchandise.

From simple products like old Monopoly games and used Elvis records to wholesale electronics and digital cameras to exotic motor vehicles and real estate, eBay has become the global trading platform for every person.

The eBay business model is magnificently simple: provide a safe and motivating online marketplace where anyone can gather to trade products with confidence. Charge people a small fee to sell their wares and enforce safety and trust for everyone.

At its base level, eBay works exactly like an electronic “flea market”:

1) eBay sellers pay a small flat fee plus a 1.5% fee to eBay in order to market their wares;

2) eBay buyers visit and use the marketplace without any surcharges;

3) Any parties that abuse the system or each other will be disciplined or ejected.

At a higher level, eBay is different from a regular flea market for ten reasons:

1) The eBay marketplace is international, crossing language and national boundaries;

2) The massive choice of goods is awe-inspiring;

3) Sales can either be auction format (competitions between bidders) or traditional fixed-price format. The sellers choose whichever format they prefer;

4) The buyers and sellers will likely never meet in person;

5) The buyers do not get to see the product in person before purchase, but are given various post-purchase guarantees to ensure satisfaction;

6) Very sophisticated computer measures are implemented to minimize electronic dishonesty on all sides;

7) Full-time staff are employed to enforce safety and fairness across the system;

8) An honesty-incentive model called “positive feedback” is used to motivate buyers and sellers to trade with integrity;

9) Professional third party payment services, like Paypal, Bidpay, and Escrow.com, are brought in to ensure safe and trusted payment between eBayers;

10) eBay is easier to use than a flea market.

Starting out with eBay

Trading with people all over the world has become safe and reliable these days. eBay users can sell or make purchases online without the usual fear of being scammed or defrauded. eBay has been around for years; you don’t want to be left behind and selling those unused things from your room or buying some stuff that is nearly impossible to find at your local store. Here is a tutorial to selling your way to good money. The tutorial has been broken down into three parts. First is the introduction and registration, next is a sample transaction to see how the program works, and lastly, the guide to buying and selling on eBay itself.

Upon your initial visit to the site, you can click on the "Welcome to eBay," the world's largest online community of buyers and sellers. It's your place to buy what you want, sell what you have, and make a few friends while you're at it.

Registration
Now, this thing is a piece of cake. All you need here is to fill in all the info., including your complete name, address, and all the usual stuff. You don’t need to pay for anything when you register. Make sure to read the eBay User Agreement and Privacy Policy before you click the “I agree to these terms button.” You will also be asked about your preferred method of payment beforehand. Paypal is commonly used in eBay, so you might want to register for a PayPal account before signing up to eBay.

User Id and password
This is an online flea market, so make your id as unique as possible with the thoughts of a good, decent name. You are not restricted to choose any name aside from those already chosen by registered users. You choose your own password; keep it short and hard for others to guess, but make sure it isn't hard enough that you might forget it.

Email confirmation
Upon registration, you will receive an email at the address you stated in the form for confirmation.

Tips For Online Auction Shopping - By Kadence Buchanan

Participating in online auctions can be a lot of fun! More often than not, you can find yourself on the good end of a great deal on something that you would have bought elsewhere for a lot more money. Online auction shopping can be great, but there are some things to consider when putting your money up on a bid. In this article, we'll give you some tips when it comes to buying on sites such as eBay.

- When you're bidding on an item, and the shipping and handling fees are not clearly shown on the bid page, it's important to discuss them with the seller before you place any bid. Some sellers offer low prices on items only to charge exorbitant fees when it comes to shipping and handling. Clarifying that you aren't getting ripped off on shipping before you place a bid is of the utmost importance.

- Also, when you find an item you like, it's important to read the seller's feedback on their past auctions. Reading how they do business with other people is the cornerstone of ensuring that you'll have a positive buying experience with the seller.

- If an item really strikes your eye, but it's at a high price, try checking out the seller's other auctions. Sometimes sellers offer the same item many times in a row, and you may be able to get a better deal on the same item if you wait around for another auction from the same seller.

- One way that people have been able to successfully score great deals on auction sites is to ‘bid-snipe'. To do a bid-snipe, you just need to look for auctions that are ending in the very near future. If there's an item with 5 minutes left on it that is selling for a low price, by all means, you should bid just slightly higher than the high bid to secure the item for a steal.

- Ensure that the item is in proper condition before buying. If the seller offers a vague description of a used item, it's important to make sure that the item meets your expectations before placing a bid. If you're not cautious, you may end up spending cash on an item that's in poor or non-working condition.

Follow the above tips, and you'll find yourself getting better and better deals on auction sites. What's most important is to know exactly what you're paying for, and how much you'll be paying when all is said and done.

Don't Get Scammed In Online Auctions - By M. Allen

You can literally find almost anything for sale somewhere in an online auction. But, with most of the sellers being individuals and with it not being a face-to-face transaction there is a chance of getting scammed.

The first thing you need to do is familiarize yourself with the auction site's rules and procedures. Many online auction houses allow users to list whatever they want to sell without verifying if the seller actually has these items in his possession. Maybe they don't guarantee that seller's will keep their word when it comes to the terms of the deal. Maybe there are hidden fees for either the seller or the buyer. After the auction ends is not the time to find this stuff out.

Now that you know how the auction venue works, let's be on the lookout for scam artists. Yes, scam artists have their sights set on auction buyers and sellers as well. There main goal is to either get money for nothing or merchandise for nothing. You can prevent them from succeeding in their goals against you.

As a buyer there are a number of ways you can get scammed:

Without being able to physically check the item out because it is being sold usually from many miles away, it is difficult to tell if the item is accurately described.

Always pay attention to the shipping and handling fees. Many less than legitimate sellers price things incredibly low to entice bidders then hit them with an extremely high shipping and handling fee. If the fee was listed in the auction ad and you were the successful bidder than most auction houses say that you are liable for that fee.

Many auction sites (including Ebay, the most popular) have feedback systems in place so that buyers can report on how the transaction went. Was it shipped on time, was it what was described in the auction, and was it packaged well are all things you can report on when filing feedback with the other party you completed a deal with. By checking a seller's feedback you gain information on how they've done business in the past.

Be cautious when dealing with sellers from foreign countries. There is very little to no recourse if one were to get "ripped off" by someone from a foreign country.

Beware of shill bidding. Shill bidding is when the seller himself or an associate of his purposefully bids on his own items and against a buyer in an effort to drive the price up. Many auction houses have safeguards built in to sniff out shill bidders but they are still a possibility.

When dealing with brand name items, especially clothing and media (dvds, cd-roms, etc.), be on the lookout for forgeries. Many of the top fashion companies have had replicas of their goods illegally manufactured overseas and then brought in illegally. A very good use of the phrase of 'if it looks too good to be true, it probably is." With the relative ease of copying movies and music and burning them to their own CDs and DVDs it is very possible that the hard to find movie you've come across is a pirated edition.

When purchasing via an auction site it is usually best to pay with a credit card as this will give you the opportunity to come back one year later or so and dispute a charge.

For expensive purchases, many sites can provide or recommend an escrow service so that the money you're paying the seller isn't available to him until you've confirmed you got the item you purchased in your possession.

There are also many ways a seller can be scammed.

Be careful when dealing with overseas purchasers who use paypal or credit cards. Paypal and credit cards are effective to use when buying online. When selling to an overseas buyer they may not have a confirmable address or there may not be a reliable service that can track a package shipped to a foreign country. The buyer then can claim to not have received the package even though it may indeed have made it to them. The buyer then files a claim with the credit card company and they reverse the charges, taking the money back from the seller even though they may have received the item.

A buyer can contact a seller and ask that he send the package to a different address other than the one listed for the buyer. It may be a gift or present for someone else or the buyer may be traveling. The possible problem here lies in the fact that some auction or payment sites (and Paypal is one of them) will not offer protection on your package unless it is sent to the address on file. If it's sent to a different address and the buyer claims to not receive it, they will have there money refunded.

When selling online and receiving a check through the mail, remember to wait long enough for the check to clear before shipping the purchase out. A buyer may request "as soon as possible" shipping on a package and pay with a check. If the merchandise is shipped out before the NSF check comes to the attention of anyone on the seller's end they may be out the item sold as well as the amount of money it was sold for.

One of the more popular auction scams right now happens where a buyer (usually from a foreign country) wins an auction and then contacts the seller offering to wire or send funds immediately. The only problem, the buyer will state, is that the item costs $100 (for example) and he only has a pre-made-out check or money order in an amount larger than the purchase price. The buyer then asks the seller to send not only the item won but the change back from the larger than needed money order or check. After the seller sends the item won and the difference in price back he then is alerted to the fact that the money order or check is a counterfeit or otherwise bogus. The seller is then out both the money for the item as well as the item itself.

When selling a package that is paid for by a credit card or paypal, make sure it is shipped in a way that requires the buyer to sign for the package (Registered Mail, Delivery Confirmation, etc.), this will help if the buyer later disputes that they received the package.

By paying attention to the details and being alert you can avoid getting scammed online.

How to Pick Hot Items for eBay Auctions - By Monique Hawkins

So, you have a great collection of music albulms from the 60's era you want to give away. Maybe you have some antique music boxes you no longer can use, or maybe you even have some vintage jewelry. Whatever the case, you want to sell these items on eBay.

If this description fits you, then you are one of many people who are trying to start an eBay business and who spend a great deal of time trying to figure out what will sell best on eBay. Many of these people have elaborate systems for determining this information, and many others purchase expensive courses that teach them how to find this information as well. The fact is, none of that is necessary. Everything you need to know is right in front of you. Where? On the eBay website which is good news for you!

Here is what you need to do. Create an eBay account which is free. After you do this, take a look at any category, and you will see the word "hot" beside some items. These items are not marked as hot sellers randoml. There is a method to the madness! Items only get marked as hot when there have been more than thirty bids placed on the. All you have to do is surf around the eBay website for a while to find an item that will do well. So, it would be a good idea to just spend some time wandering around eBay based on your interests.

Most power sellers agree that there is more to figuring out which items sell best than this. In fact, they claim that it is a science. A great way to start your search for items that will result in a successful auction in the future is to do research on the auctions that were successful in the past. You can view old listings that have completed at: http://listings.ebay.com

A new way to determine what items sell best on eBay is "eBay Marketplace Research." Marketplace Research will allow you to view important statistical information on the buying trends at eBay. This product contains all of the data one could possibly ever need to determine how well or how poorly an item will do in an eBay auction. There is a small fee for using the eBay Marketplace Research tools, however.

Yet another tool that will be very useful in your quest for finding hot selling items for your eBay auctions is the listing of popular eBay search terms that is found on the site. This list can be found at: http://popular.ebay.com/. This list is divided into categories, which will make it easier to determine how popular your potential item may be.

Avoid the mistake of thinking that an item will do poorly, or that it will do well without doing your homework first. Some things sell for the highest prices, while items that would sell quickly in any other environment just sit there. Almost any eBay Power Seller will tell you that the key to a successful auction rests in the amount of research you put into the items you hope to sell. The lesson here is to research, research, research!

Starting a eBay business where you can sell your music albulms, antique music boxes, vintage jewelry, or whatever you have does not have to be difficult. eBay provides you will all the tools you need to get started right! Why not begin today?

How To Make Money From Selling On Ebay - By Allison Thompson

Are you the type of person who is always rummaging around looking for a bargain, whether it is in a sale, yard sale or at antiques or flea market? It may be that until now the only things you have purchased this way have been for your family and friends, yet did you know that your love of bargain hunting could help you to make some real money. I would not lie, and it’s all thanks to Ebay, the world’s biggest internet market place.

Many of those bargains that you have found could be placed on Ebay and sold for a lot more than what you originally paid for them. For example, one person who managed to buy some books by the best selling author Sandra Brown for paid on $2.00 for the 20 books and sold them for $36.00. Then another time some one bought a Belleek porcelain butter dish for $1.49, they put it on Ebay and could $21.95. So as you can see a killing can be made, it’s just finding the right items to sell.

Just imagine what it would be like if you were able to find items like this each week. It is definitely possible, especially if you live in an area where there are always lots of yard sales and flea markets going on as well as having some thrift shops close by. Other people are selling items on Ebay as they are simply decluttering their homes, and these types are usually not interested in putting each item individually onto Ebay and they just might what to get rid of the stuff as quickly as possible. So it is a good idea to keep your eyes peeled for items like this when searching Ebay for new stock.

But how do you go about deciding what is good to buy and what you should leave well alone. Certainly any items you see that come with their original packaging, best selling books which are in good condition as well as vintage and antique books (especially copies which are first editions). Also consider ceramics, crystal, pottery and porcelain are a safe way of making some money on Ebay, especially look for depression era glass (also known as carnival glass) as this can usually provide you with a suitable profit. If looking at clothing to sell then choose pieces that are in new or like new condition and especially those with a recognized brand or designer name on them. Finally, it may be worth considering looking at vintage toys, again those which either come with their original packaging or are in a like new condition.

Remember when listing any items for sale, always aim for your auction to start and end on a Sunday evening as this will ensure that as many people as possible get to see the item being auctioned. Always ensure that the photographs taken of the items are clear and choose the gallery option on Ebay for uploading them. At all time ensure that the auction tile grabs the readers attention and can be easily found using a keyword search and do not forget to provide the reader with a clear description of the item for sale, including such things as colour, size, condition and any other details that you feel are applicable to that particular item. If say the item is a piece of clothing include the label name, especially if designer. When providing a description of the item include all the details required and use words that will entice the reader to look at the item and bid on it. Do not forget to include payment and shipping details for the item and start the price for bidding off low as this will entice more people to bid on it and help you to achieve the best prices for it.

So remember as long as you are vigilant, determined and dedicated to providing your potential customers with good service then this business should work. You may find that if you are able to locate and then list a number of suitable items each week you are likely to find people return to visit your listings and/or Ebay store regularly to see what you have to offer. Remember to package any items sold well and ship them as quickly as possible and you will find that the feedback you receive from customers will be good (this is certainly the most important area of running any business on Ebay). No good feedback will result in you not receiving the visitors you require to run the business effectively.

Allison Thompson, a work from home, who is now an expert author in her own right. She along with her husband have developed a number of sites which will hopefully help people to look at ways of earning an
income or a second income from the internet. If you would like to learn more please visit

Your Guide to eBay - By Morgan Hamilton

Online shopping is one of the greatest conveniences of the century. I am so pleased with the fact that I can do my shopping through the net. However, sometimes we find ourselves so flooded by online shopping advertisements and advice that we at times have problems. We were cheated, over-charged and we did not receive any additional help with our purchases. Nevertheless, those who were acquainted with the right places to buy online have not experienced these problems. Such a place is ebay.com. Ebay.com offers you a secure, reasonable and amusing online shopping.

May be you do not know that eBay.com is the first shopping web site that is ever designed. On ebay.com you can find anything you are looking for. On ebay.com, you can buy anything from car parts to cooking utensils, food to clothes, memory sticks to souvenirs and so on and so forth. You can make easy, fast, low-cost and free of troubles purchases only on ebay.com. What is more, ebay.com offers taking part in auction for any particular product. This is what ebay.com is famous for. eBay.com is an auction site for common people but not for the rich people who attend antique auctions.

eBay.com has some specific features. For example, each buyer and each seller have their own rating which usually come with some opinions from all past buyers/sellers to that person. Sellers on ebay.com are usually one person who is trying to sell something. Other sellers on ebay.com are trying to support a small firm and to surpass the others online. Their main goal is to gain more buyers as well as keep the existing buyers. In order to resist the business competition, sellers on ebay.com offer reasonable prices, the best packaging and delivery.

eBay.com also supports associated specialized web site like EBay Motors, eBay Stores, and eBay Business. eBay.com offers thousands of reviews and guides of products for everyone who will not buy anything until he or she is acquainted with the main features of the product.

I have had various mischances with almost all the other online shop but so far, ebay.com has never disappointed me. I think that eBay.com is perfectly safe online shop. In principle, I am not used to praising any certain shop; I just share my experience with ebay.com.

During the last several years, using ebay.com I have bought a Camaro SS emblem, three plants, six books, an anthology of comedy CDs (Monty Python) and two Saab side view mirrors. Every item I have bought came to me within three days of my payment. Some of them even came from 3,000 miles away from me or from across the world! The Monty Python CDs came from England just after three days of my order.

I have bid lately on eBay.com of some desired items such as a Salvadore Dali Tarot Deck (usually 100 dollars brand-new), orchids, and a Compaq laptop computer. The bidding is what makes shopping on ebay.com so amusing. I have fun while I am tracking my bids and at the end when I find that, I am the highest bidder.

Some items that are on sale even make me laugh. I just read that a hotel cleaner collected from the bathroom sink of one of the rooms the shavings of Russell Crowe, and the bidding is at 300 dollars so far. Have I been clear enough – at eBay.com you can find anything you are seeking?

The Secrets Of The Ebay Pre-Approved Bidder Auction - By W Smith

Ebay offers it’s members the facility to open an ebay shop. The advantage to doing this, is that items can be listed for less, however the disadvantage is that these items won’t appear in the regular search results.

Ebayers have developed a way round this, with what is known as the “pre-approved bidder” technique. This technique is often used by sellers wanting to build their selling feedback quickly, by listing 1p ebooks, with free shipping.

For example, you want to list 100 copies of the same ebook, in a buy it now (BIN) format for 1p each, with free shipping.

Firstly, ebay will not allow regular auction BIN items to be listed with a price less than 99p. But you can list them with a BIN price of 1p, if you list them in your ebay shop. It is also cheaper to list them in your shop.

So you’ve listed your 100 ebooks at 1p BIN, but they don’t appear in the search results.

The way round this is to now list a regular auction item for your ebook, with a starting bid of 1p, and in the description of your item, you put in a hyperlink that says “This auction open to pre-approved bidders only, click here for instant approval”.

When the buyer clicks on the link, it does nothing more than transfer them to the item in your store, where they will purchase the item from your BIN listing.

So that’s the secret of the “pre-approved bidders” auction. It’s all about saving money on listings, and finding a way round some of ebay’s restrictions.

The Top Ten Reasons I Will Not Be Bidding On Your Auction - By R Heavner

1. Your pictures are lousy…..sorry, but I really can’t see tell what your widget looks like. Your photo is out of focus and looks like you took it with a cell phone camera. Buy or borrow a digital camera.

2. You won’t tell me the shipping charge…..I really don’t have time to email you and wait for a response. I’ve already passed you by and bid on another one just like yours. Use the ebay shipping calculator. Or go to usps.com and calculate the shipping. Maybe see what your competition charges. Just do something – I don’t like surprises.

3. Your description is scary……Two lines describing your widget, and 16 lines telling me the terms, conditions, and nasty stuff you’ll do if I don’t comply. No thanks.

4. Your shipping/handling charge is absurd……Your item is bidding for 99 cents and your shipping charge is $24.95. Since your gizmo is worth about 30 bucks its still a good deal. Wrong answer. You don’t refund shipping so if I have to return it all I get back is my 99 cents. See ya.

5. I can’t read your description……One six inch paragraph in all capitals. I got past the first two lines, but that’s about it. Turn off the caps lock key and hit the return button a few times. One minute of your listing time can make a world of difference.

6. You don’t want my money…..All you accept are USPS money orders. I just want to buy your $3 postcard. It’s simply not worth it to me to go to the post office and spend a buck on a money order and another 39 cents on postage. Consider Paypal.

7. Your feedback is questionable…..This one doesn’t require much explanation. Your couple of negatives don’t bother me nearly as much as the twenty people who gave you neutrals for the same reasons. People read this stuff.

8. Your ad is blinding me…..24 point multi-colored fonts, flashing lights, dashing graphics, scrolling marquees. Save it for the circus.

9. Your ad loads too slowly…..Your intentions are probably good, and the pictures probably are too. But I can’t spend the rest of my lunch break waiting to find out. Consider changing to a different photo host or reducing your image size.

10. I really don’t need to hear your life story….The pictures of your cat were really cute and I bet the farmhouse in Kansas was great. In fact, I’ve completely forgotten what it was you’re selling. A little personalization is a good thing. Too much is not so good. Consider a blog.

As I am writing this I have a vision of every Ebay seller reading it adding me to their blocked bidder list. I’m not that bad, really. Just trying to spend my hard earned money and like a lot of people a little picky about where I spend it. Tongue in cheek sarcasm aside, if you’re consistently not getting many bids and recognize yourself in my list, try experimenting with a few changes. I just might be the guy looking to bid on your gizmo.

eBay Arbitrage: Big Profit Margins Without Leaving Home - By Avril Harper

This article offers a few simple techniques that let you benefit from sellers who either don’t know or don’t care how their products are listed on eBay and consequently their mistakes and omissions often lead to items going unsold or selling way below their real market value. The upshot is: you look for items poorly or wrongly listed, buy them cheap, correct mistakes and improve their earlier listing, then resell at a profit on eBay.

The best way to make steady money is to literally stalk eBay looking for items available for you to buy at less than their normal selling price on eBay. This discrepancy can be due to several reasons, for example:

- The item is poorly listed and failing to attract interest because it is listed in a category where few potential buyers will find it;

- the seller offers an item Buy It Now or accepts a ‘Best Offer’ at much below the price the item regularly fetches on eBay’s highest bidder auctions;

- the listing has spelling mistakes or typos which render it oblivious to eBay’s search engines when potential buyers seek for similar items;

- the pictures are poor and that deters people from bidding;

- the item is highly desirable but the seller doesn’t know this or fails to describe it properly.

These and other anomalies present a product you might buy cheap and relist almost right away to at least double your investment and maybe earn a great deal more. Many people see this as a regular feature of their eBay ventures.

Tips

* Look especially for items failing to attract bids which are poorly described, listed in the wrong category, having typing mistakes or typos, have poor illustrations, or which are missing essential words and fail to respond to eBay search engines. In all cases the item can usually be purchased below typical eBay value and relisted immediately after corrections and improvements are made.

* Look for items with no bids and close to auction end, you might find many are poorly described or another reason deters bidding on an otherwise valuable item. You might also find sellers of Buy It Now items remaining unsold just a few hours before auction end will accept Best Offer bids way lower than would be so when the auction began. Check manually or find last minute no bid auction and Buy It Now listings using www.no-bids.com or click on the ‘All Items Ending Now’ icon normally middle of screen on the home page on any eBay country site home page.

* Do price comparisons on eBay. You’ll often find items available Buy It Now or Best Offer which regularly fetch far more on auction listings. This is because people get caught up in the thrill of bidding and chase items they don’t really need or want just to prevent someone else winning them.

Apart from spelling and typing errors for which seek-and-find software is available, it’s a question of physically looking for items to resell. With so many items listed on eBay, in several country sites and in hundreds of different categories and sub-categories, you really do need to focus on one or a handful of product types or you’ll just get horribly confused. You also need a good system to keep count of items viewed, low price Best Offer opportunities, and so on. A spreadsheet will usually do or try one of the diary and note-taking programs available for most computers.

eBay Arbitrage: Cross Auction Abritrage. Buy At Offline Auction, Sell Online, or Vice Versa, or - By Avril Harper

Cross auction arbitrage is where you buy something at one auction to resell at another auction. It’s very common practice at offline salerooms where I know many people who buy at north east auction where visitors are few and products often go below market value. Those items are carted off to bigger auction salerooms in major towns and cities, including larger London auction houses like Sotheby’s and Phillips. City and big town auctions often attract hundreds of international bidders with deep pockets and keen to bid high, unlike their small town counterparts which are often poorly advertised.

eBay is the biggest most successful online auction site with buyers and sellers, products and prices towering way above hundreds of other online auction sites, including Amazon. PowerSellers frequently buy at Amazon, both auction and from shop products whose prices are often low in comparison to eBay. This often happens with books and on Amazon you’ll find second hand books on countless different subjects priced in pennies which can attract frenzied bidding when resold on eBay.

Amazon is just one of hundreds of sites where products can be bought inexpensively and fetch far higher prices on eBay.

Like price comparisons on eBay and seeking out poorly listed items to resell, it’s all down to personal research, it can be time-consuming, definitely boring, but the rewards are usually well worthwhile.

This is how I would look to buy books on Amazon to resell on eBay.

* First off I’d look for best selling titles on eBay, using the Advanced Search button top right of eBay’s pages, next page key something generic into the search box, we need to find all books within the overall ‘Books, Comics and Magazines’ category. Something like ‘a’ or ‘the’ should return most recently completed book auctions. I’ll key in ‘a’, pick ‘Books, Comics and Magazines’ from the dropdown menu, tick ‘Completed Auctions Only’, next page I’ll choose ‘Price: Highest First’ from the dropdown menu right side of the screen. Today it returns 32342 completed listings over ten plus sub-categories including children’s books, textbooks, antiquarian books. I need to narrow down a bit so I’ll choose ‘non-fiction books’ and then ‘sports’. That gives me 1060 books to study.

* Still with the ‘Price: Highest First’ option, I find six of the top ten highest priced books are about fishing, specifically carp fishing. That took me about five minutes and already I know carp fishing is a subject I should keep in mind at offline book sales, and also online at Amazon and other auction sites.

* At www.amazon.co.uk I found hundreds of books available on the subject of Carp Fishing, not rare books but some decent quality items at lower prices than similar titles selling on eBay. That’s just one subject and I confess I didn’t look beyond the first page or investigate other subjects.

* Here’s my own secret book buying weapon, it isn’t an auction site, it’s just a place I turn to for books that regularly fetch £100 each and often lots more for my favourite subject: Dogs. I can’t reveal the actual book I buy, my PowerSeller daughter would disown me, but I will tell you where to look for second-hand booksellers charging incredibly low prices for high resale value books on eBay. It’s www.abebooks.com. I looked for my books today, also keyed in ‘carp fishing’ and found several costing just a few pounds each. Most were in the USA, meaning hefty postage costs to UK buyers, so be careful, check before buying and ask about postage discounts on multiple purchases.

eBay Arbitrage: The Best Way to Guaranteed Profits on eBay - By Avril Harper

Arbitrage means to buy an item in one market for the purpose of reselling it soon after for profit. Although the concept traditionally means reselling in a separate market to that from which the product was acquired, the term also commonly applies to buying something on eBay with the purpose of reselling it quickly, also on eBay, for an almost guaranteed profit. This buying on and reselling later on eBay is also called ‘Flipping’, sometimes ‘Leveraging’.

Understanding Arbitrage

Arbitrage begins with one or more of the following basic steps:

* Buy online to resell online

* Buy offline to resell online

* Buy online to resell offline

* Buy offline to resell offline.

As eBay sellers, it’s the first two that concern us most, so let’s see how to make easy money from ‘Arbitrage’ or what’s traditionally known as the ‘Buy Low, Sell High’ technique.

Arbitrage Techniques

Your profit might be based on personal knowledge, for example, where you discover items selling on eBay.com which you know will sell at higher prices on other eBay country sites, good examples being viewcards, books and other souvenirs of overseas geographical locations which almost invariably sell better on their own country site. The same goes for overseas collectibles selling in say, the UK, which you think might fetch higher prices on eBay.com or another eBay country site.

For example, at a local antiques fair I bought eight large photographs of men and machines felling giant Redwood trees in Eureka, California, dated 1880.

These fascinating old pictures had been hanging around in the seller’s box for months, finding no buyers among local visitors to the fairs he attended in Gateshead and Hexham. They were hogging space, in danger of being damaged, so he offered to reduce the price by twenty per cent if I bought all of these items, total nine, pre-discount price £125. So I paid the £100, uploaded them all to eBay’s UK site, priced £39.99 each, total almost £320. One eager buyer, living in Eureka, offered £300 to take the whole lot of my hands, which I accepted and made an almost instant £200 on the deal. I may have reached an even bigger market of Eureka and California Redwood tree collectors and made more money by listing these items on eBay.com but I’m keen on fast turnover and prefer to list items in one sitting, on one eBay site. More than this I’ve never found listing on ebay.com in preference to ebay.co.uk, or vice versa, makes any real difference to my takings.

* Research is another way to find items worth very little in one area and potentially a great deal more elsewhere, either between eBay country sites, or on different eBay categories, even within the same category on which they originally appeared.

* Then there’s the old chestnut of just buying whatever you can, on or off the Internet, which you know presents virtual guaranteed profits on eBay.

There are many ways of using arbitrage for really big rewards especially for anyone prepared to spend time researching ebay for current best selling items and looking elsewhere to buy those very same items sufficiently below eBay's prices to turn a handsome profit on every deal.

How to Make Money on eBay - By Peter Fisher

Some people say that anyone can make money on eBay, by selling all sorts of household junk and unwanted gifts that you have lying around. It would have to be a very big house to have enough stuff going around to make money on eBay consistently.

However there are over a million registered users in the Uk and millions visit the site every month so there is potentially a large relatively untapped market which should allow you to make money on eBay if you do your homework first; in the USA over 150,000 people make their full-time living from selling on eBay.

In the UK eBay is rapidly getting established and just about everyone has heard of it so how do you make money on eBay?

Whether you are looking for a way to supplement your income or develop it as a full-time job, you need to know the basic steps for selling online and the strategies that will get you the highest bids and keep your customers coming.

What you need to do before you get started:

Don't expect to sell every item you put up for auction or sale - it probably won't happen;

Don't expect to make a killing in your first few weeks as some of the authors of books about eBay would have you believe;

Do your homework - research eBay carefully before you place your first listings. This information is essential, you must find out as much as you can about pricing policies, competitors and buying habits.

Look at sellers feedback scores and the items they sell to find out what goes best and when to use a seven-day auction or a one-day auction. If you want to make money on eBay, model yourself on successful sellers with high positive feedback scores.

When you come to create your listing you will have found out that a good title, accompanied by a precise, well-written and accurately detailed product description will maximize your listing's impact. Add a picture to make the selling power grow even more because people trust what they can see more than just a description.

70% of registered users will accept payments by PayPal but you should offer other payment options as well. The greater the number of payment options that you accept the less chance of potential buyers backing away!

Positive feedback from previous buyers can make all your offers more attractive. You will have to work your way up and become a top eBay seller. From that position you will notice more buyers bidding on your products and an increase in the prices they offer. A tip to build your own feedback score quickly and make money on eBay, is to become an active buyer yourself. Many items are sold at very low prices and the opportunity to build your score up to say 100 won't cost you very much.

Always be professional and treat your buyers with respect and courtesy. If they have questions answer quickly and not only will they come back willing to bid even higher prices for your products but they will also spread the word among their friends.

Make sure you use all the available marketing help from eBay itself - especially the "About Me" page which allows you to set up a personalized page about yourself. Add a signature-file and promote your business.

Bookmark the "Want It Now" page so that you can regularly browse through lists of items actually wanted by buyers. You will make money on eBay quicker by responding to buyers needs.

eBay Auction Home Business Tutorial: Successful Selling Is All About Timing - By Chris Bryant

It's been said that "success is all in the timing", and that's true of eBay auction postings as well! You can actually improve your item's final sale price by up to 10% by having the auction end at the right time, and cost yourself money by having it end at the wrong time.

So what times are "right" and "wrong"? Part of it is simply applying common sense. If you're selling a physical item (as opposed to an ebook or something delivered electronically), you may choose to ship only to buyers in your country. If that's the case, don't end your auction at 2 AM in your local time. Just because you're up at that time doesn't mean that everyone else is!

Some eBay sellers take this approach thinking that people will bid high to avoid losing an auction that ends in the wee hours of the morning. Personally, I've found myself not bidding on auctions that ended at such a time, thinking that someone will come in at the last second and outbid me. I've tried using auctions that ended when most of my potential customers were asleep, and I found the results were not as good as the auctions that ended during daylight hours.

If you ship worldwide or sell an electronically delivered item such as an ebook, you may not think the ending time is of real importance. This is not the case! A recent study by the University of Pennsylvania revealed that almost one-third of eBay auctions end between 5 and 9 PM Eastern Standard Time, and auctions that ended in this time period were almost 10% less likely to end in a sale due to the increased competition. One article called this "eBay happy hour", but it's an "unhappy hour" to those of us selling on eBay.

By choosing the right item and the right time to sell on eBay, you're opening up a world of possibilities for your future and your family, and I'm here to help you do just that. See you tomorrow with another exclusive eBay auction home business tutorial!

"BE AWARE" of Scammers When Selling Online - By John Vinters

The world today, especially on the internet, is full of nasty people who are all too willing to try to cheat someone. Especially on the internet because they are faceless and it easier to hide. So if you are selling items on Ebay or any other online auction and especially if you are new at selling online, there are things to be aware of when you receive offers.

This is my true story.

Just recently I started selling online and made my first sale on Ebay, or at least I thought it was my first sale.

I received an email regarding my product from a sincere sounding purchaser who wanted to buy the product for her son who lived in another country. They offered to pay me more than I was asking for the item. This should have been red flag No.1. But being new at online selling, the flag did not go up.

So I agreed and sent an email to the purchaser stating that I would ship the product as soon as the funds were in my paypal account.

The next day I received an official looking email from paypal saying that the funds for the online sale had been verified and withdrawn from the purchasers account and would be deposited into my account as soon as I sent paypal the tracking number and they could verify the shipment. This should have been red flag No.2. I waited a couple of days because the email that I thought was from paypal said it could take from 24-48 hours to verify the shipment and deposit the funds for the online sale to my account. Obviously the crook thought that by that time he would have the parcel. I didn't know then, but I know now, that paypal does not hold back funds and require a tracking number for an online sale. I started to get suspicious by this time, so I contacted paypal and they informed me that the payment email for the online sale was not from them. And I must say that it sure looked official. It did not look any different than actual paypal emails that I have received in the past.

Fortunately I caught this in time and was able to stop the package from being delivered to the scam artist. Although it is going to cost me a couple of hundred bucks for shipping costs, at least the criminal did not get the package.

The moral of this story is to make sure that you learn all the do's and don'ts of selling online and hopefully this will not happen to you.

A couple of triggers that should send up a red flag if you are selling online and a purchaser contacts you are:

1. If they offer more than you are asking.

2. If the purchaser is in one country and the package is to be sent to a different country.

3. Verify all emails from payment processors, no matter how official they look.

I hope this helps you in your online selling endeavors. Online auctions are a great place to sell your stuff and make money, just know that you have to be aware.To learn more about selling online you might want to check these out www.canambcventures.com
